Denoising Diffusion Model With Pixel‐Adaptive Convolutions for Sheet Metal Forming Analysis

open access: yesProceedings in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, Volume 26, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Traditional tool development processes in mechanical forming, especially for pressing tools, are often limited by time‐consuming trial‐and‐error cycles, which rely heavily on expert knowledge. These cycles can create bottlenecks and increase costs.

Fault Volume Digital Twin to Reproduce the Full Slip Spectrum, Scaling, and Statistical Laws

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 131, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Seismological and geodetic observations of fault zones reveal diverse slip dynamics, scaling, and statistical laws. Existing mechanisms explain some but not all of these behaviors. We show that incorporating an off‐fault damage zone—characterized by distributed fractures surrounding a main fault—can reproduce many key features observed in ...

Computational Investigation on the Combined Effect of Applied Strain and Pore Configuration on Strain Concentrators in Additively Manufactured Metals

open access: yesFatigue &Fracture of Engineering Materials &Structures, Volume 49, Issue 5, Page 1656-1679, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Metal additive manufacturing (AM) provides a pathway for creating highly optimized components that would be difficult to produce using traditional manufacturing methods. However, regardless of printing parameters or postprocessing, porosity remains a prevalent challenge in AM components because strain concentrates in the vicinity of the pore ...

The fundamental group of the complement of a generic fiber‐type curve

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 113, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract In this paper, we describe and characterize the fundamental group of the complement of generic fiber‐type curves, that is, unions of (the closure of) finitely many generic fibers of a component‐free pencil F=[f:g]:CP2⤍CP1$F=[f:g]:\mathbb {C}\mathbb {P}^2\dashrightarrow \mathbb {C}\mathbb {P}^1$.

A Force‐Based Identification Scheme for Constitutive Parameters Regularized by Admissible Elemental Internal Forces

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 4, April 2026.
The “E‐FEMU‐F loss” as a function of full‐field displacements, constitutive parameters, and “Admissible Elemental Internal Forces” (AEIFs). AEIFs are constructed from measured (integrated) external forces and optimized analytically, while constitutive parameters are inferred numerically to minimize the E‐FEMU‐F loss.

Inverse nodal problems of discontinuous Sturm–Liouville operator

open access: yesJournal of Differential Equations, 2013
Abstract We study inverse nodal problems for the second-order differential operator with discontinuity inside a finite interval. In particular, we solve the uniqueness, reconstruction and stability problems using the nodal set of its eigenfunctions. Furthermore, we show that the space of discontinuous Sturm–Liouville operators characterized by B =
