Extending the hyper‐logistic model to the random setting: New theoretical results with real‐world applications

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
We develop a full randomization of the classical hyper‐logistic growth model by obtaining closed‐form expressions for relevant quantities of interest, such as the first probability density function of its solution, the time until a given fixed population is reached, and the population at the inflection point.

Centrosymmetric isospectral flows and some inverse eigenvalue problems

open access: yes, 2003
This paper is concerned with the solution of some structured inverse eigenvalue problems in the class of centrosymmetric matrices. For this aim, isospectral flows evolving in the space of centrosymmetric matrices are considered to numerically construct a

A highly accurate numerical method for solving boundary value problem of generalized Bagley‐Torvik equation

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
A highly accurate numerical method is given for the solution of boundary value problem of generalized Bagley‐Torvik (BgT) equation with Caputo derivative of order 0<β<2$$ 0<\beta <2 $$ by using the collocation‐shooting method (C‐SM). The collocation solution is constructed in the space Sm+1(1)$$ {S}_{m+1}^{(1)} $$ as piecewise polynomials of degree at ...

Optimal combination forecasts for hierarchical time series [PDF]

open access: yes
In many applications, there are multiple time series that are hierarchically organized and can be aggregated at several different levels in groups based on products, geography or some other features. We call these "hierarchical time series".

Oblique projections and standard-form transformations for discrete inverse problems

open access: yes, 2011
This tutorial paper considers a specific computational tool for the numerical solution of discrete inverse problems, known as the standard-form transformation, by which we can treat general Tikhonov regularization problems efficiently.

Exponential Stability of Higher Order Fractional Neutral Stochastic Differential Equation Via Integral Contractors

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 48, Issue 6, Page 6425-6446, April 2025.
ABSTRACT The well‐posedness results for mild solutions to the fractional neutral stochastic differential system with Rosenblatt process with Hurst index Ĥ∈12,1$$ \hat{H}\in \left(\frac{1}{2},1\right) $$ is discussed in this article. To demonstrate the results, the concept of bounded integral contractors is combined with the stochastic result and ...

Unveiling New Perspectives on the Hirota–Maccari System With Multiplicative White Noise

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this study, we delve into the stochastic Hirota–Maccari system, which is subjected to multiplicative noise according to the Itô sense. The stochastic Hirota–Maccari system is significant for its ability to accurately model how stochastic affects nonlinear wave propagation, providing valuable insights into complex systems like fluid dynamics

High Relative Accuracy Computations With Covariance Matrices of Order Statistics

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In many statistical applications, numerical computations with covariance matrices need to be performed. The error made when performing such numerical computations increases with the condition number of the covariance matrix, which is related to the number of variables and the strength of the correlation between the variables. In a recent work,
