Accelerated Medical Microwave Tomography via Heterogeneous Computing

open access: yesIEEE Access
In practical applications, such as medical microwave imaging, the implementation of three-dimensional (3D) numerical electromagnetic (EM) inverse scattering algorithms has been limited for over two decades owing to their high computational cost.

Photon yield of superradiant inverse Compton scattering from microbunched electrons

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2022
Compact x-ray sources offering high-brightness radiation for advanced imaging applications are highly desired. We investigate, analytically and numerically, the photon yield of superradiant inverse Compton scattering from microbunched electrons in the ...

Stability estimates in inverse scattering [PDF]

open access: yesActa Applicandae Mathematicae, 1992
Mathematically rigorous inversion method is developed to recover compactly supported potentials from the fixed-energy scattering data in three dimensions. Error estimates are given for the solution. An algorithm for inversion of noisy discrete fixed-energy #D scattering data is developed and its error estimates are ...

On the quantum inverse scattering problem [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2000
A general method for solving the so-called quantum inverse scattering problem (namely the reconstruction of local quantum (field) operators in term of the quantum monodromy matrix satisfying a Yang-Baxter quadratic algebra governed by an R-matrix) for a large class of lattice quantum integrable models is given.

Microstructure Evolution of a VMnFeCoNi High‐Entropy Alloy After Synthesis, Swaging, and Annealing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The synthesis and processing (rotary swaging and annealing) of the novel VMnFeCoNi alloy is investigated, alongside the estimation of the grain size effect on hardness. Analysis of a wide grain size range of recrystallized microstructures (12–210 µm) reveals a low annealing twin density.

Mixed spectral AKNS hierarchy from linear isospectral problem and its exact solutions

open access: yesOpen Physics, 2015
In this paper, the AKNS isospectral problem and its corresponding time evolution are generalized by embedding three coefficient functions. Starting from the generalizedAKNS isospectral problem, a mixed spectralAKNS hierarchy with variable coefficients is

Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.

Spectral analysis of the indefinite non-self-adjoint Sturm–Liouville operator

open access: yesPartial Differential Equations in Applied Mathematics
The study investigates the inverse scattering problem for the Schrodinger operator with complex potentials, considering indefinite discontinuous coefficients on the axis.

High‐Temperature Nanoindentation of Metals: Assessing Thermal Drift, Frame Compliance, and Chemical Composition Effects on the Reported Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...

Two dimensional inverse scattering from buried magnetic anomalies

open access: yesAnnals of Geophysics, 2008
This paper deals with the problem of the electromagnetic linear inverse scattering from magnetic anomalies buried in a lossy half space, for a scalar and two dimensional case. First, the formulation of the exact model of the electromagnetic scattering is
