Multifractal structure of a general subordinator

open access: yes
The object of this paper is to obtain the multifractal structure for the local time of a general Lévy process which hits points. All such local time measures can be represented as the occupation measure of a subordinator. The thick points in the spectrum

Exposure to Climate Change and Earnings Manipulation

open access: yesJournal of Business Finance &Accounting, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates whether and how climate change exposure (CCE) influences corporate financial reporting practices. Using a newly developed firm‐specific CCE measure from conference calls, we find that US firms with higher CCE exhibit greater real earnings management (REM).

Regional Community Building in Hard Times: Communal and Functional Filtering at EU Borders During the COVID‐19 Pandemic

open access: yesJCMS: Journal of Common Market Studies, EarlyView.
Abstract Pandemics are times of closure. States typically restrict the entry of persons to protect their national communities from external health hazards. In this regard, the COVID‐19 pandemic presented the European Union (EU) with a severe challenge. On the Existence of One‐Sided Representations for the Generalised Dynamic Factor Model

open access: yesJournal of Time Series Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We study the Generalised Dynamic Factor Model (GDFM) and show that the dynamic common component, that is, the common component of the GDFM, can be expressed using only current and past observations under mild assumptions. Specifically, we require (i) the dynamic common component to be purely non‐deterministic and (ii) the exclusion of ...

Information‐Theoretic Approach to Financial Market Modeling

open access: yesMathematical Finance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The paper treats the financial market as a communication system, using four information‐theoretic assumptions to derive an idealized model with only one parameter. State variables are scalar stationary diffusions. The model maximizes the surprisal of the market and minimizes the Kullback–Leibler divergence between the benchmark‐neutral pricing

A LINEAR INVERSE DEMAND SYSTEM [PDF]

open access: yes
We present an inverse demand that can be estimated in a linear form. The model is derived from a specification of the distance function which is parametrically similar to the cost function underlying the Almost Ideal Demand System.
