In the traditional mass concrete temperature field calculation, the accuracy of the thermal parameters is extremely important. However, the actual thermal parameters of mass concrete may have some errors with the laboratory-measured values or ...

Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

The hardening soil model with small-strain stiffness (HSS model) is widely applied in deep foundation pit engineering in coastal soft-soil areas, yet it is characterized by a multitude of parameters that are relatively cumbersome to acquire.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Post-stack inversion of seismic reflection data from the belvoir coalfield [PDF]
Post-Stack inversion of reflection data in seismic exploration can be used to obtain detailed information about lithology variations in the zone of interest. Generalized Linear Inversion (GLI) has previously been applied as a useful tool to achieve this.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Inversion Analysis of Shield Tunnel Load in Composite Strata Based on Field Tests
[Objective]Due to the unclear load pattern, the final internal force design value often deviates from the actual value when a tunnel crosses transverse composite strata.

Implementation of Machine Learning Algorithms in Spectral Analysis of Surface Waves (SASW) Inversion
One of the complex processes in spectral analysis of surface waves (SASW) data analysis is the inversion procedure. An initial soil profile needs to be assumed at the beginning of the inversion analysis, which involves calculating the theoretical ...
