Remote sensing of air-sea interactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
A number of preliminary concepts for the measurement or inference of fluxes across the air-sea interface through remote sensing are proposed. All the methods are achievable from aircraft with state-of-the-art technology.

Amyloidogenic Peptide Fragments Designed From Bacterial Collagen‐like Proteins Form Hydrogel

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study identified amyloidogenic sequence motifs in bacterial collagen‐like proteins and exploited these to design peptides that self‐assemble into β‐sheet fibers and form hydrogels. One hydrogel supported healthy fibroblast growth, showing promise for biocompatible materials. Our work demonstrates that bacterial sequences can be harnessed to create

Focal Mechanism and Rupture Process of 2004 Alhoceima (Morocco, Mw=6.2) Earthquake from Teleseismic and Regional Broad-Band Data. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We have study the focal mechanism of the 2004 Alhoceima (Morocco, Mw=6.2) earthquake using teleseismic and regional broad-band data. The solution obtained shows strike slip motion with planes striking respectively on NNE-SSW and WNW-ESE direction and ...

Speckle‐Engineered Upconversion Amplification in Nanoemulsion‐Templated Hydrogel Microdomes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoemulsion‐confined PEGDA microdomes generate speckle‐like excitation fields that strongly amplify upconversion luminescence upon dehydration, enabling filter‐free visible readout with reversible on–off switching. DMD‐based lithography yields scalable, shape‐programmable arrays for moisture‐responsive displays and optical encryption.

Depth Inversion Using SAR and Super-Resolution Enhancement: A Case Study on Case II Waters

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
Depth inversion is crucial for ocean exploration, with synthetic aperture radar (SAR) technology being a key tool due to its all-weather capabilities. However, SAR-based depth inversion typically has limited resolution, ranging from hundreds to thousands

Using a laser aureole to invert lidar return [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
An aureole generated by a laser beam was studied. The strength of the signal redirected towards a sensor high above the surface by a combination of one scattering event in the marine boundary layer (mbl) and one single reflection event from the ocean ...

Investigation of Halogen Substitution Effects in π‐Conjugated Organic Ligands of Chiral Hybrid Perovskites on Their Chiroptical Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The role of novel thiophene‐based ligands with halogen substitutions in enhancing the chiroptical and optoelectronic properties of 2D chiral HOIPs has been investigated. By tailoring ligand design, enhanced CD and CPL properties are achieved, with improved CPL discrimination in photodetectors.

Atomic Layer Deposition in Transistors and Monolithic 3D Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Transistors are fundamental building blocks of modern electronics. This review summarizes recent progress in atomic layer deposition (ALD) for the synthesis of two‐dimensional (2D) metal oxides and transition‐metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), with particular emphasis on their enabling role in monolithic three‐dimensional (M3D) integration for next ...
