Universal Reconstruction of Complex Magnetic Profiles with Minimum Prior Assumptions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Understanding the intricate magnetic structures of materials is crucial for the advancements in material science, spintronics, and geology. Recent developments of quantum-enabled magnetometers, such as nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond, have enabled direct imaging of magnetic field distributions associated with a wide variety of magnetic ...

Design of a series of cocrystals featuring isoniazid modified with diacetone alcohol

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section B, Volume 78, Issue 6, Page 857-867, December 2022., 2022
Eight cocrystals featuring an isoniazid derivative are synthesized and characterized. Most of the cocrystals show great similarity in hydrogen bonding between each other with only a few exceptions.Eight cocrystals containing an isoniazid derivative derivatized with diacetone alcohol [N′‐[(2E)‐4‐hydroxy‐4‐methylpentan‐2‐ylidene]pyridine‐4‐carbohydrazide,

Rocketquake Seismology with a Falcon 9 Rocket Source [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
We investigate the feasibility of using rocket launches, specifically rocketquakes, as a seismic source to image subsurface velocity and geology of planetary bodies. Toward this goal, we record the seismic vibrations excited by a Falcon 9 rocket launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base (SFB) near Lompoc, California.

Evaluation of Multidentate Ligands Derived from Ethyl 1,2,4‐triazine‐3‐carboxylate Building Blocks as Potential An(III)‐Selective Extractants for Nuclear Reprocessing

open access: yesChemistryOpen, EarlyView.
Several new N,O‐ligands containing the 1,2,4‐triazine‐3‐carboxamide chelating group were synthesized and evaluated as actinide selective extracting agents for reprocessing spent nuclear fuels. The likely complexes formed with lanthanides were investigated by 1H NMR titrations and DFT calculations.

Genomics and morphometry of herbarium specimens elucidate the origin of the Cape Verde date palm (Phoenix atlantica A.Chev.) and highlight its agronomic potential

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
As climate change accelerates, breeding resilient crops is urgent. The date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.), a crucial 18 billion USD fruit crop, underpins North African and West Asian oasis agroecosystems. This study investigates the genetics and morphology of its closest wild relative, the endemic and endangered Cape Verde date palm (Phoenix atlantica ...

Development of an offline and online hybrid model for the Integrated Forecasting System

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
In this article, we develop a neural network based model‐error correction for the operational Integrated Forecasting System (IFS). The neural network is pre‐trained offline using a dataset of operational analyses and analysis increments and then online using a new variant of weak‐constraint 4D‐Var.
