This study combined geophysical, geologic, and topographic information to investigate the Mayarí-Baracoa ophiolitic belt in eastern Cuba. A recently developed interpretation technique for 3D inversion of magnetic data was employed to determine the geometry at depth of ophiolitic and other rocks.

3D stochastic gravity inversion using nonstationary covariances
, 2013The flexibility of geostatistical inversions in geophysics is limited by the use of stationary covariances, which, implicitly and mostly for mathematical convenience, assumes statistical homogeneity of the studied field.

One of the main goals of seismic inversion is to obtain high-resolution relative and absolute impedance for reservoir properties prediction. We aim to study whether the results from seismic inversion of subsalt data are sufficiently robust for reliable reservoir characterization. Approximately [Formula: see text] of poststack, wide-azimuth, anisotropic

In many areas, depth imaging of seismic data is required to construct an accurate view of the reservoir structure. This is especially true in areas of complex geology and areas with salt tectonics.

The feasibility of development seismic inversion and detailed reservoir description are difficult ,in order to solve the problems curve reconstruction was proposed based on frequency division compensating. According to different-frequency logging curves reflecting different geological and sedimentary features, using the theory of high frequency ...

Synthetic Study of Elastic Effects on Acoustic Full Waveform Inversion
, 2013In seismic exploration, 3D acoustic full waveform inversion (FWI) is nowadays commonly used to estimate large-to-intermediate scale velocity features with low-frequency and wide-aperture data.
