A model of the inversion process in an arterial inversion experiment

NMR in Biomedicine, 1997
A model of the behavior of spins moving through spatially varying gradient and B1 fields is presented. The model simulates the adiabatic behavior of flowing arterial water during a two-coil arterial inversion experiment. Predictions of the degree of inversion generated by the model are compared with flow phantom results for a wide range of gradient ...

The Inversion Camera Model

2006
In this paper a novel camera model, the inversion camera model, is introduced, which encompasses the standard pinhole camera model, an extension of the division model for lens distortion, and the model for catadioptric cameras with parabolic mirror. All these different camera types can be modeled by essentially varying two parameters.

A model for inversion polymorphism

Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1972
Abstract Equations are derived which describe the interaction between selection and recombination under conditions of inversion polymorphism. An exhaustive list of equilibria is provided and a partial analysis of stability is given. In particular, it is found that certain systems lacking inversion are inherently unstable.

Inversion of imaging mechanisms by regularization of inverse Volterra models

Signal Processing, 2004
An imaging mechanism is defined as the process by which a sensor obtains an image of a physical reality. The inversion of the imaging mechanism can be a solution when one needs to measure some physical magnitude from imaging data. In this paper we propose a general method to model and invert such imaging mechanisms.

Inverse modelling of snow depths

Environmental Modelling & Software, 2018
Abstract Operational snow forecasting models contain parameters for which site-specific values are often unknown. As an improvement a Bayesian procedure is suggested that estimates, from past observations, site-specific parameters with confidence intervals. It turned out that simultaneous estimation of all parameters was most accurate. From 2.5 years
