Generalized Swing Control Framework for Inverter-based Resources
This paper proposes a novel control framework designed for Inverter-Based Resources (IBRs), denoted as Generalized Swing Control (GSC). The proposed GSC framework generalizes the definition of Grid-Forming (GFM) control schemes and exploits the coupling between active and reactive power dynamics.

Impact of Inverter-Based Resources on the Protection of the Electrical Grid
In recent years, the contribution of renewable energy resources to the electrical grid has increased drastically; the most common of these are photovoltaic solar panels and wind turbines. These resources rely on inverters to interface with the grid, which do not inherently exhibit the same fault characteristics as synchronous generators.

Technical, Regulatory, and Market Challenges of 100% Inverter-Based Grids: A Review
The energy transition is rapidly increasing the penetration of inverter-based resources (IBRs), thereby reducing the share of conventional directly grid-connected synchronous generation in modern power systems. In scenarios with very high shares of IBRs,

Mathematical Modeling and Analysis of an Inverter-Based Resource
The transition from traditional synchronous machines to inverter-based resources is evident due to their ability to integrate renewable energy sources. Problems of instability due to the dynamics of the inverter, which is a major component of an Inverter-Based Resource (IBR), need to be modeled accordingly to stabilize the system behavior.

A Dynamic Control Approach for AC Micro-Grids Including Non-Inverter and Inverter Based Energy Resources [PDF]
Microgrids harness the benefits of non-inverter and inverter-based Distributed Energy Resources (DER) in grid-connected and island environments. Adoption of them with the various types of electric loads in modern MGs has led to stability and power ...

Passive Islanding Detection of Inverter-Based Resources in a Noisy Environment
Islanding occurs when a load is energized solely by local generators and can result in frequency and voltage instability, changes in current, and poor power quality.
