Epigenetic silencing of the liver‐specific lncRNA LUNAR promotes liver cancer progression via NOTCH activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LUNAR is a liver‐specific long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that is highly expressed in normal liver but becomes epigenetically silenced in hepatocellular carcinoma through promoter hypermethylation. Loss of LUNAR is associated with NOTCH activation, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and metastasis, whereas restoring LUNAR restrains metastatic progression ...

Paclitaxel induces NM2‐dependent cellular contraction through GEF‐H1 dissociation from microtubules and RhoA/ROCK activation in cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Taxanes are widely used chemotherapeutics whose effects on cellular mechanics remain poorly understood. We show that paclitaxel induces rapid cellular contraction by promoting GEF‐H1 dissociation from microtubules and non‐muscle myosin II activation through RhoA/ROCK.

Full column rank preservers that preserve semipositivity of matrices

open access: yesSpecial Matrices, 2018
Left invertibility preservers on Mm,n(ℝ), m ≥ n, that preserve either semipositivity of matrices or the subset of minimally semipositive matrices are studied. We prove that such maps cannot be degenerate.

SPHINX31 acts as a SRPK1 inhibitor targeting the ATR/DNA‐PKcs/CHK1 replicative checkpoint to inhibit cell growth in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The kinase SRPK1 directly interacts with the protein TOPBP1 and regulates the pre‐mRNA splicing of WIZ thereby contributing to the activation of the ATR/CHK1 replicative checkpoint in response to replicative stress. This allows cancer cells' genomic stability and survival.

A Unified Framework for Fractional and Non-Fractional Operators in Some Function Spaces

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
This paper examines a family of operators that combine the features of fractional-order and classical operators. Our goal is to obtain results on their invertibility in function spaces, based on their inherent improving properties.

On Invertibility of Large Binary Matrices

open access: yesMathematics
Many data processing applications involve binary matrices for storing digital information. At present, there are limited results in the literature about algorithms for inverting large binary matrices.

Connections between the stability of a Poincare map and boundedness of certain associate sequences

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2011
Let $m\ge 1$ and $N\ge 2$ be two natural numbers and let ${\mathcal{U}}=\{U(p, q)\}_{p\ge q\ge 0}$ be the $N$-periodic discrete evolution family of $m\times m$ matrices, having complex scalars as entries, generated by ${\mathcal{L}}(\mathbb{C}^m ...

Lipopolysaccharide uptake is augmented in lipopolysaccharide‐tolerant mouse macrophage‐like cells via increased CD14 expression

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In normal (nontolerant) cells, CD14 is crucial for both LPS uptake and LPS signaling. In LPS‐tolerant cells, in which LPS‐induced TNF‐α and IFN‐β production is suppressed, there is a dramatic increase in surface CD14 expression. The overexpressed CD14 in LPS‐tolerant cells is responsible for the enhanced LPS uptake without inducing pro‐inflammatory ...
