Rectifier/invertor reactive component minimization

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 1989
The problem of filter-component placement is considered in connection with the size and cost minimization of the reactive elements in a rectifier/inverter. First, the optimal placement is found for the filter elements. Given the terminal constraints, two circuit topologies are possible: one with a capacitor filter on the DC side and the other with it ...

Multilevel invertors of traction motors

Russian Electrical Engineering, 2011
The peculiarities of using multilevel (three-level) voltage inverters for traction purposes are studied. It is shown that a three-level inverter allows one to achieve economical voltage control in traction motors which reduces losses in both devices and a traction drive in general.

Quasi-sine-wave fully regenerative invertor

Proceedings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1973
The paper shows that, if a cage induction motor is fed with a quasi-square-wave current, the motor terminal voltage is approximately sinusoidal under normal operating conditions. A simple analytical approach, based on the assumption that the motor resistances and inductances do not change with frequency, is shown to describe adequately the motor ...

New sinusoidal pulsewidth-modulated invertor

Proceedings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1975
Sinusoidal p.w.m. invertors depend intrinsically for their operation on quite complex modulation processes. An in-depth study of these modulation processes is presented and the sources of possible operational problems are identified. These problems are shown to be manifest in low-frequency harmonic distortion and the possible existence of subharmonics ...

Static-invertor power supplies

Electronics and Power, 1975
Applications for static-invertor power supplies can range from simple emergency-lighting systems to the more ‘complex needs of a computer system or process-control equipment. But behind each application is the question: ‘Is it cost-effective?’

Dip behaviour of grid connected invertors

22nd International Conference and Exhibition on Electricity Distribution (CIRED 2013), 2013
The environmental awareness has led to a considerably increasing demand for renewable energy. The majority of renewable energy installations consist of invertor fed systems. In the distribution network, many common power quality phenomena voltage dips, under- and overvoltage, transients, unbalance and harmonic distortion) occur and they affect the ...

The invertor knock-in conditional chromosomal translocation mimic

Nature Methods, 2004
Knock-in models of tumor-specific chromosomal translocations can generate lethal mutations. To circumvent this, a new conditional gene fusion model has been developed (invertor mice) and exemplified with the Ews-ERG fusion oncogene. An ERG segment, flanked by loxP sites, was knocked in to an intron of the Ews gene but in an inverted transcription ...

Static invertors—recent developments and new applications

Electronics and Power, 1968
The advent of the transistor and, more recently, the thyristor has created wide interest in circuit designs and techniques for static invertors, with their advantages over conventional rotating machines. The increasing interest in fields of application such as fluorescent lighting and electric vehicles is accelerating their design and development for ...
