Modal Theory of Phase‐Modulated and Frequency‐Shifting Ring Cavities

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
We present a theoretical and experimental characterization of the optical modes of dispersionless ring cavities with phase modulators or frequency shifters. Their response to arbitrary modulation acts as a filter for phase‐modulated modes that determine the optical output of passive resonators and lasers. This provides a general framework for analyzing

Water‐Mediated 1,7‐Palladium Aryl‐to‐Aryl Migration in an Unusual Aryne Trimerization Enables the Synthesis of Multihelicenes with Profoundly Hindered Stereogenic Axes

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, EarlyView.
In the presence of a Pd0 catalyst, large π‐extended arynes trimerize in an unusual manner to forge extremely compact and strained chiral benzenoids. This new trimerization reaction involves a 1,7‐Pd isomerization, a rare and poorly understood process that is elucidated.

Light Mediated Sulfonylation/C–H Activation/Annulation of Benzimidazoles Derivatives Catalyzed by Diarylmethylium Tetrafluoroborate Salts: An Experimental and Computational Study

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, EarlyView.
Through the exploiting of visible‐light, a key photoactive complex, and an acid‐catalyzed proton‐coupled electron transfer, polycyclic sulfonylated benzimidazoles are obtained through a domino process including sulfonylation, C–H activation, and annulation. Diarylmethylium tetrafluoroborates are employed as inexpensive organocatalyst capable of forming

TBC1D22B Regulates ER‐to‐Golgi Trafficking via RAB1B Inactivation and Promotes Oncogenic Programs in Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TBC1D22B, a Golgi‐localized RabGAP linked to poor prognosis in breast cancer, inhibits ER‐to‐Golgi transport via RAB1B inactivation. This disrupts secretion, drives oncogenic transcriptional reprogramming, and promotes tumor growth. These findings indicate that TBC1D22B connects membrane trafficking to transcriptional control and cancer progression ...

Macrophage Zc3h12c Limits Tissue Inflammation and Injury via Alternative Splicing of Pre‐mRNA

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work defines the context‐dependent function of Zc3h12c in macrophages using the Tnfrsf11a‐Cre system. It reveals Zc3h12c's dual mechanism—regulating RNA degradation and alternative splicing—with STAT1 as a key target. The findings elucidate a novel post‐transcriptional pathway and identify STAT1 isoforms as potential therapeutic targets for kidney

Peptide Electrostatic Modulation Directs Human Neural Cell Fate

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study explores the effect of charge on the bioactivity of peptide‐based supramolecular materials. The design of a peptide library with varying charges that self‐assemble into supramolecular fibers is presented, demonstrating how the surface charge of these fibers, used as artificial extracellular matrices, influences the fate of human neural ...

4D Insights into Coral Biomineralization: Effects of Ocean Acidification on the Early Skeleton Development of a Stony Coral

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Early coral skeletons grow through formation of two co‐joined zones, rapid accretion deposits and thickening deposits. Advanced imaging and simulations reveal that ocean acidification reshapes these zones, shifting the coral portfolio of mineral phases which alters skeletal resistance to mechanical stress.

Co‐Sensitized Solar Cell Achieves 13.7% Efficiency with Bis‐Hexylthiophene Dyes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The authors demonstrate that the longer excited state lifetime dye in combination with a copper electrolyte produces a high photovoltage of 1.22 V, owing to retarded interfacial charge recombination. The co‐sensitized solar cell achieves efficiencies of 13.7% under full sunlight and 29.7% under LED light.
