A pyrene‐fused azaacene derivative is reported in which steric overcrowding caused by eight phenyl substituents induces bending of the aromatic framework rather than twisting. This study explores enzyme‐responsive nanoparticles for targeted antimicrobial release in inflamed oral environments.
