INVESTMENT APPRAISAL CRITERIA UNDERLYING INVESTMENT DECISIONS [PDF]

open access: yesAnalele Universităţii Constantin Brâncuşi din Târgu Jiu : Seria Economie, 2011
Companies that want to grow their activity must decide on which investment projects to focus. Investment in financial terms, represents a use of capital that at the end of the investment wants to obtain a profitability. Following the investment, the company hopes that both its volume and activity increase.

Linking Device Performance to Nanoscale Photoactivation of Grain Boundaries in 2D Hybrid Halide Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
The opto‐electronic response of polycrystalline (PEA)2PbBr4 thin films is investigated by correlating macroscopic photodetector performance with nanoscale mapping techniques. Grain boundary density is systematically tuned through crystallization control and linked to device responsivity.

Insights Into Degradation Pathways of Perovskite Thin Films under Outdoor and Indoor Conditions: A Comparative Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This study compares indoor low‐light and outdoor high‐light degradation in perovskite thin films. Under ∼1000 lux [N2], films remain stable; in oxygen, the same low light triggers strain, surface oxidation, and shorter lifetimes. Whereas high light accelerates decomposition to PbI2 and metallic oxides.

Flexible and High‐Performance Perovskite‐Polymer Composites for Dual X‐Ray and Proton Direct Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A polymer–perovskite composite obtained by mechanochemical synthesis enables thick, tunable active layers for efficient absorption of highly penetrating ionizing radiation. Vertical‐electrode detectors achieve low X‐ray detection limits and high sensitivity direct 5 MeV proton sensing.

Foreign Direct Investment vs. Foreiegn Portfolio Investment [PDF]

open access: yes
The paper develops a model of foreign direct investments (FDI) and foreign portfolio investments (FPI). FDI is characterized by hands-on management style which enables the owner to obtain relatively refined information about the productivity of the firm.

Liquid Crystalline Elastomers in Soft Robotics: Assessing Promise and Limitations

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Liquid crystalline elastomers (LCEs) are programmable soft materials that undergo large, anisotropic deformation in response to external stimuli. Their molecular alignment encodes directional actuation in a monolithic structure, making them long‐standing candidates for soft robotic systems.
