Socially Responsible Investments in Germany, Switzerland and the United States: An Analysis of Investment Funds and Indices [PDF]

open access: yes
The aim of this study is the analysis of so called socially responsible investments (SRI). First, the performance of SRI equity investment funds and equity indices is investigated using Jensen´s alpha as performance measure. The analysis considers market

Linking Device Performance to Nanoscale Photoactivation of Grain Boundaries in 2D Hybrid Halide Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
The opto‐electronic response of polycrystalline (PEA)2PbBr4 thin films is investigated by correlating macroscopic photodetector performance with nanoscale mapping techniques. Grain boundary density is systematically tuned through crystallization control and linked to device responsivity.

Can greater uncertainty hasten investment?

open access: yes, 2003
This paper examines irreversible investment in a project with uncertain returns, when there is an advantage to being the first to invest and externalities to investing when others also do so.

Flexible and High‐Performance Perovskite‐Polymer Composites for Dual X‐Ray and Proton Direct Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A polymer–perovskite composite obtained by mechanochemical synthesis enables thick, tunable active layers for efficient absorption of highly penetrating ionizing radiation. Vertical‐electrode detectors achieve low X‐ray detection limits and high sensitivity direct 5 MeV proton sensing.

Cost-benefit analysis of transport investments in distorted economies [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper deals with costs-benefit analysis of investment in transport infrastructure. Its contribution is twofold. Firstly, we develop a general equilibrium model to explore the impact of a small budgetary-neutral investment in transport infrastructure

Timing Mechanotransduction: Mechanically Dynamic Biomaterials Reveal the Temporal Hierarchy of YAP/TAZ Control Nodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work develops dynamically softening polyacrylamide hydrogels for time‐resolved imaging during continuous mechanical transitions. The study revealed that mechanotransduction is biphasic; YAP/TAZ inactivation is driven by early loss of the nucleocytoskeletal continuum connecting subnuclear adhesions, F‐actin, and the nuclear envelope, coupled with ...
