Journal of Financial Research, 2018AbstractI provide evidence that covenants in bond indentures affect firms’ investment policies outside of covenant violations. After controlling for the self‐selectivity of covenant inclusion, I find that firms decrease (increase) capital expenditure after issuing bonds with investment (financing) restrictions.

The firm’s dynamic investment policy
1988In this paper we develop dynamic models of the firm with convex (increasing marginal costs) and concave (decreasing marginal costs) adjustment cost functions. The conclusion is that in the convex model investment appears to have a continuous course during the time and in the concave case investment expenditures take place in a “jump pattern”.
