Funny Problems! [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Thirty original and collected problems, puzzles, and paradoxes in mathematics and physics are explained in this paper, taught by the author to the elementary and high school teachers at the University of New Mexico - Gallup in 1997-8 and afterwards. They

Halide‐Dependent Photoluminescence and Heavy‐Atom Effects in Low‐Melting Organic–Inorganic Manganese Halides

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two pyridinium‐based ionic liquid templated hybrid manganese halides, (C4Py)2[MnCl4] and (C4Py)2[MnBr4], display similar bulk structures but show significantly different photoluminescence behaviors due to the bromine heavy‐atom effect. Their stable local Mn environments remain intact even in the molten state, allowing applications such as luminescence ...

Institutional Racism in Ellison's Invisible Man and Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird

open access: yesمجلة جامعة دمشق للآداب و العلوم الإنسانية, 2023
This paper discusses the negative impact of institutions in the United States controlled by white racists on black individuals. These racist practices aim at maintaining white sovereignty over American society.

Speckle‐Engineered Upconversion Amplification in Nanoemulsion‐Templated Hydrogel Microdomes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoemulsion‐confined PEGDA microdomes generate speckle‐like excitation fields that strongly amplify upconversion luminescence upon dehydration, enabling filter‐free visible readout with reversible on–off switching. DMD‐based lithography yields scalable, shape‐programmable arrays for moisture‐responsive displays and optical encryption.

Growing up is crossing boundaries. The example of the French picturebook Devine qui fait quoi by Gerda Müller

open access: yesRicerche di Pedagogia e Didattica, 2019
The fundamental notion of “spatial turn” which was coined by the geographers Edward Soja (1996) and Jacques Lévy (1999) is part of the relevant questions on living space: How is man in the space which surrounds him?

Curvature‐Tuned Friction at Electrified Ionic Liquid Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Graphene curvature plays a key role in friction electrotunability at single‐asperity contacts lubricated by ionic liquids. A 9 nm radius yields stronger tunability than larger radii, with distinct friction coefficients at low and high loads indicating a shift in the slippage plane.

Blindness And Sight In Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man

open access: yesمجلة كلية التربية للبنات, 2019
The Civil Rights era has been an era of struggle for the African American in the Unites states. Thus, many writers devoted their writing to reflect the racism and discrimination that many have suffered from, among them is Ralph Ellison.

Mapping Nanoscale Protein‐Corona Kinetics of DoE‐Optimized Perfluorocarbon Encapsulated‐PLGA Nanoparticles by In Situ, Time‐Resolved Synchrotron SAXS

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐phase workflow (OFAT screening followed by central composite design) maps how processing variables tune PFCE‐PLGA nanoparticle size, dispersity, surface charge, loading, and 19F‐MRI signal. In situ, time‐resolved synchrotron SAXS tracks albumin‐corona growth on intact dispersions and reveals PFCE‐dependent adsorption pathways.

Invisible design: exploring insights and ideas through ambiguous film scenarios [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Invisible Design is a technique for generating insights and ideas with workshop participants in the early stages of concept development. It involves the creation of ambiguous films in which characters discuss a technology that is not directly shown.
