RALPH ELLISON’IN INVISIBLE MAN ROMANINDA TEN RENGİNE DAYALI AYRIMCILIK

Terahertz Chiral Metamaterials Enabling Broadband Polarization Conversion Using Polarization Guiding Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A broadband terahertz polarization rotator consisting of twistingly stacked silicon–air metagratings is designed based on the polarization guiding effect and experimentally shown to achieve 90° linear polarization rotation for both TE and TM incidences.

The craft of structure in R. Ellison's invisible man

open access: yesRevue des Sciences Humaines, 2006
Ellison’s advocacy of art against sociology and ideology is well-known. In his only novel, Invisible Man, he demonstrates that Negro writers are perfectly capable mastering the Euro-American literary tradition, and that great works of art with universal

Optical Diversity and Nanostructural Organization in the Colored Scales of Sternotomis

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Vivid colors in Sternotomis beetles originate from nanoscale photonic architectures embedded within individual scales. Here, we provide a comparative optical and structural analysis of 57 scale types that reveal how ordered, quasi‐ordered, and disordered 3D networks tune color, saturation, and angular response.

How to Disappear Completely

open access: yesHumanities
This article investigates the paradox of disappearance as both an aesthetic and a political phenomenon. Taking inspiration from Radiohead’s song “How to Disappear Completely,” it argues that aesthetic representations of disappearance never achieve total ...

An AI‐Enabled All‐In‐One Visual, Proximity, and Tactile Perception Multimodal Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Targeting integrated multimodal perception of robots, an AI‐enabled all‐in‐one multimodal sensor is proposed. This sensor is capable of perceiving three types of modalities, including vision, proximity, and tactility. By toggling an ultraviolet light and adjusting the camera focus, it switches smoothly between multiple perceptual modalities, enabling ...

Meeting on Neutral Ground. A Reflection on Man-Machine Contests

open access: yesStudia Semiotyczne, 2020
DOI: http://doi.org/10.26333/sts.xxxiv1.13 We argue that thinking of the man-machine comparison in terms of a contest involves, in a reasonable scenario, a criterion of success that is neutral. This is because we want to avoid a petitio principii.
