The torsional stiffness of involute spur gears

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 2004
This paper presents the results of a detailed analysis of torsional stiffness of a pair of involute spur gears in mesh using finite element methods. Adaptive meshing has been employed within a commercial finite element program to reveal the detailed behaviour in the change over region from single- to double-tooth contact zones and vice versa. Analysis

Analysis Of Tip Relief Profiles For Involute Spur Gears

ECMS 2021 Proceedings edited by Khalid Al-Begain, Mauro Iacono, Lelio Campanile, Andrzej Bargiela, 2021
The main goal of this research was to study the influence of involute spur gear tip relief on the contact stress at the engagement meshing point (the begining point of the line of contact A). Different predefined involute spur gears and modification parameters (amount and length of modification) were already available from previous studies (Schmidt ...

The Oil Condition Analysis of Involute Spur Gear

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2012
A gear microscopic surface pitting lubrication model was established, and the oil condition of it was introduced. Based on the multi-grid method, a numerical solution of spur gear oil condition lubrication was obtained. The result show that with the provided oil film thickness increases, the film thickness of the meshing point also increases.

Parametric analysis of asymmetric involute spur gear tooth

International Journal of Powertrains, 2019
The focus of this work is a geometric parameter of an asymmetric involute spur gear tooth. Gear strength is influenced by tooth geometry. So, knowledge of tooth geometric is required which will help to improve the strength of a gear tooth. In this article, a data generated from an equations and presented in form of graph for better interpretation of ...

Experimental Investigation of the Impact Resistance of Involute Spur Gears

2018 9th International Conference on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (ICMAE), 2018
Gears are the most commonly used power transmission element in today's world. Due to their advantages, gears are widely used in many sectors such as aerospace, space, wind turbines, automotive, etc. In these sectors the moment, speed and power values that need to be transmitted are increasing day by day.

The Efficiency of Involute Spur Gears

Journal of Mechanical Design, 1981
Approximate equations produced by Trachman |15| are used to predict the coefficient of sliding friction between the gear teeth. These equations apply when the lubrication regime is elastohydrodynamic; this is true during many gear contacts. The equations, which require only certain basic characteristics of the lubricant and the gears, are relatively ...
