Involution sets, graphs with parallelism and loops

open access: yes, 2003
This is a general frame for a theory which connects the areas of loops, involution sets and graphs with parallelism. Our main results are stated in Sections 4, 5 and 6. In Section 4 we derive a partial binary operation from a bipartite involution set and

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Involution Tool

open access: yes, 2018
The timing behavior of complex digital circuits is very hard to predict. Using analog models for simulation is, especially for larger circuits, too slow. Therefore, a digital abstraction is required in order to ensure feasible simulations.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

The Role of Spy1 During Mammary Involution

open access: yes
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. From puberty to menopause, risk of breast cancer fluctuates with the natural development of the breasts.
