URANIUM IN IRON OXIDE-COPPER-GOLD (IOCG) SYSTEMS

Economic Geology, 2005
The Olympic Dam iron oxide-copper-gold (IOCG) deposit is currently the world's largest producer of uranium." Other IOCG deposits generally have anomalous, though uneconomic, uranium grades. The fluids that generate IOCG deposits are thought to be saline and highly oxidized and would be capable of leaching and transporting significant uranium.

A Case for Camp-scale Seismic for IOCG Exploration

Proceedings, 2016
We propose that the best means to discover new Iron-Oxide-Copper-Gold deposits that do not have strong gravity or magnetic signatures under cover, such as those found in the Gawler Craton in South Australia, is to use the 3D seismic reflection method with sparse survey parameters.

Geochronological constraints on the formation, setting and evolution of the Olympic Dam IOCG deposit and the Olympic IOCG Province, South Australia

2019
The Olympic Dam Cu-U-Au-Ag deposit in the Olympic Cu-Au Province (Gawler Craton, South Australia) is unique in the iron oxide-copper-gold (IOCG) deposit class for its polymetallic tenor and size; it is one of the largest economic accumulations of metals in the world.

Geophysical Signature of the Salobo IOCG Deposit and Implications for Mineral Exploration

19th Congress of the Brazilian Geophysical Society - Proceedings
Geophysics is a key in mineral exploration and has become even more important with advances in technology and the need to explore deeper targets. It helps reduce drilling risks and improve exploration efficiency. Salobo, a major IOCG (Iron Oxide Copper-Gold) deposit in the Carajás Mineral Province (1088.9 Mt at 0.62% Cu and 0.35 g/t Au), is located in ...
