Petrophysical Signature of the Salobo IOCG Deposit: Insights into Lithology, Hydrothermal Alteration, and Mineralization

open access: yes19th Congress of the Brazilian Geophysical Society - Proceedings
Integrating petrophysical and mineralogical data helps explain how hydrothermal alteration changes petrophysics. In this study, petrophysical data were combined with mineral maps from TIMA, QEMSCAN, and LIBS to characterize the Salobo deposit. Each alteration zone shows distinct physical traits.

Sources of ore fluid components in IOCG deposits

open access: yes, 2010
Many diverse hydrothermal copper deposits containing iron oxides are classified as IOCG deposits. Genetic models need to consider a number of different ore fluid components that may not all have the same source in an individual ore system, and also that economic IOCG deposits may include examples in which key components (e.g. Cu) had different sources.
