Abstract A dihydrate, a monohydrate, and three polymorphs of the anhydride Sc(IO 3 ) 3 have been prepared and studied. Sc(IO 3 ) 3 ·2H 2 O was prepared by gel growth and by precipitation and evaporation at room temperature. The γ-anhydride can be crystallized from boiling water or nitric acid solution.

Abstract.A case of potassium iodate toxicity in a 22‐year‐old man was reported. After taking a solution of highly concentrated potassium iodate, the patient developed nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and blurred vision. The visual acuity was hand motion in both eyes.

The reaction of iodate with cystine and with insulin
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1966Abstract This communication reports that cystine can be converted rapidly and quantitatively to cysteic acid by iodate in 0.1–1 M HCl. It also reports on the reaction with insulin in 0.5 M HCl; the amount of iodate consumed is nearly that required to oxidize two disulfide groups, and an insoluble product is formed, which can be separated by

Transition metal iodates. I. Preparation and characterization of the 3d iodates
Journal of Solid State Chemistry, 1973Abstract The transition metal iodates provide a group of compounds with centric and acentric structures and magnetic alignment at low temperature, optical absorption and emission, as well as piezoelectric, ferroelectric, and related properties, and possibilities of cross-interactions.

THE LIMITING CONDUCTANCE OF POTASSIUM IODATE AND OF IODATE ION AT 25.00 °C
Canadian Journal of Chemistry, 1958Measurements have been made of the equivalent conductance of solutions of potassium iodate, at 25.00 °C at concentrations ranging from 0.8 × 10−4 to 16 × 10−4 N. From this the limiting equivalent conductance of potassium iodate is found to be 114.41 mhos and that of iodate ion 40.91 mhos. The experimental technique is described. The ionic conductances

Incorporation Modes of Iodate in Calcite
Environmental Science & Technology, 2018Iodate (IO3-) incorporation in calcite (CaCO3) is a potential sequestration pathway for environmental remediation of radioiodine-contaminated sites (e.g., Hanford Site, WA), but the incorporation mechanisms have not been fully elucidated. Ab initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) simulations and extended X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy (EXAFS ...
