Symmetrical Neck Swelling After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

open access: yesActa Médica Portuguesa
Cervical edema after iodinated contrast media administration can raise the suspicion of a hypersensitivity reaction, but other diagnoses must be considered.

Adverse Reactions to Iodinated Contrast Media [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Angiology, 2013
The use of iodinated contrast agents for angiography dates back to the 1920s. With over 75 million contrast-requiring procedures performed annually worldwide, it is important to understand the risk factors, pathogenesis, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of adverse reactions caused by iodinated contrast media (ICM).

Association of high‐dose radioactive iodine therapy with PPM1D‐mutated clonal hematopoiesis in older individuals

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In thyroid cancer patients, high‐dose (≥7.4 GBq) radioactive iodine therapy (RAIT) was associated with a higher prevalence of clonal hematopoiesis (variant allele frequency >2%) in individuals aged ≥50 years (OR = 2.44). In silico analyses showed that truncating PPM1D mutations conferred a selective advantage under these conditions.

Guidelines for the prevention and treatment of iodine contrast agent-related acute kidney injury (ICR-AKI) in endovascular treatment of lower extremity arteries

open access: yesVascular Investigation and Therapy
Lower extremity arterial disease is extremely complex. Endovascular treatment for lower extremity arteries is minimally invasive, and patients may recover soon after operation.

Use of magnetic resonance angiography to select candidates with recently symptomatic carotid stenosis for surgery: systematic review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Objective To determine if sufficient evidence exists to support the use of magnetic resonance angiography as a means of selecting patients with recently symptomatic high grade carotid stenosis for surgery.

Multimodal Autonomic Biomarkers Predict Phenoconversion in Pure Autonomic Failure

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pure autonomic failure (PAF) presents with autonomic failure without other neurological features. A third develop central neurological features, fulfilling criteria for multiple system atrophy (MSA) and Lewy body diseases (LBD), including Parkinson's disease and Dementia with Lewy bodies.

Carbon dioxide angiography and arterial embolization could successfully control postpartum uterine hemorrhage for the patient with hypersensitivity to iodine compound

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports, 2017
Transcatheter arterial embolization has become a common management option for intractable postpartum uterine hemorrhage. Iodinated contrast agents are commonly used for embolotherapy but cannot be used in patients with renal dysfunction or iodine allergy.

Micromechanical Insights into Sinter‐Based Additively Manufactured NiTi with Nb as a Sintering Aid

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the microstructural and micromechanical behavior of NiTiNb made through filament‐based materials extrusion via chemically correlated nanoindentation. B19' remnants from the original powder lead to Nb gradients within NiTiNb grains due to the short sintering times required in liquid‐phase sintering.

Stabilized Intermediate Phase Via Pseudo‐Halide Anions Toward Highly Efficient and Light‐Soaking Stable Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
The formate pseudo‐halide anion is strategically introduced at the buried interface to stabilize the intermediate phases formed during perovskite crystallization. The controlled crystallization enhances crystallinity and alleviates tensile strain, eliminating residual PbI2 near the buried interface.

Unique Performance Considerations for Printable Organic Semiconductor and Perovskite Radiation Detectors: Toward Consensus on Best Practice Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...
