This review highlights recent advances in integrating biocatalysis and chemocatalysis in continuous flow to create streamlined, sustainable processes. It examines chemo‐enzymatic cascades combining at least one enzymatic and one chemical step, discusses challenges such as enzyme immobilization, leaching, and reactor clogging, and presents solutions ...

Unusual Electronic Effects of Ancillary Ligands on the Perfluoroalkylation of Aryl Iodides and Bromides Mediated by Copper(I) Pentafluoroethyl Complexes of Substituted Bipyridines. [PDF]
Several perfluoroalkylcopper compounds have been reported previously that serve as reagents or catalysts for the perfluoroalkylation of aryl halides. However, the relationships between the reactivity of such complexes and the electronic properties of the

Application of statistical learning and mechanistic modelling towards mapping the substrate electronic space in a Cu-catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura coupling [PDF]
Cu-catalyzed Suzuki–Miyaura coupling between highly fluorinated aryl boronate esters and aryl iodides has been studied with DFT calculations. The reaction mechanism proposed suggests that the oxidative addition of the aryl iodide onto the copper catalyst

A study of diketopiperazines as electron-donor initiators in transition metal-free haloarene-arene coupling [PDF]
Several diketopiperazines have been shown to promote carbon-carbon coupling between benzene and aryl halides in the presence of potassium tert-butoxide and without the assistance of a transition metal catalyst.

The crystal structure of 2,4,5-trichloroiodobenzene, C6H2Cl3I, a precursor of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), is described. The molecule is disordered in two distinct ways. Despite its lack of inversion point symmetry, it straddles an inversion centre in space group P21/n.

Synthesis of Dithienylcycloalkene Molecular Switches Enabled by a Bench‐Stable Ti‐Complex
Herein we report a set of cycloalkene‐bridged DTEs with ring sizes ranging from 4‐ to 7‐membered rings. The synthesis of these analogs was performed via a key McMurry coupling step, which was enabled by a practical, bench‐stable Ti(IV)‐complex. Remarkably, it is shown that the strained cyclobutene bridge outperforms other rings, even the most commonly ...
