Ion-chain interaction in keV ion-beam-irradiated polystyrene
Applied Physics Letters, 1987Molecular weight distribution has been measured in monodisperse polystyrene film (MW=9 000 amu) after ion bombardment, in the ion fluence range 1011–1013 ions/cm2. The chosen beams are 100 keV He, 200 keV Ne, and 400 keV Ar. The experimental data have been interpreted in terms of a simple statistical model for cross-links.

Ion Irradiation of Preceramic Polymer Thin Films
Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1996Thin films of two preceramic polymers, namely polycarbosilane (PCS) and a silicone resin (SR350), were deposited on Si substrates. Instead of employing conventional annealing at high temperatures in an inert atmosphere, ion irradiation was used to achieve the polymer‐to‐ceramic conversion.

Irradiation Effects in Ices by Energetic Ions
1989It has been shown that the irradiation of ices leads to “giant” erosion yields, in some specific conditions (1,2). In order to understand the physical processes involved, we have performed direct in-situ measurements of the erosion during irradiation, by means of infrared spectrometry of the ices.
