Ion mobility spectrometers with doped gases
Talanta, 2008Ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) is an instrumental technique used successfully for the detection of wide range of organic compounds in the gas phase. In this paper, advances in using special substances called dopants for gases flowing through IMS detectors are reviewed.

A Tandem Ion Trap/Ion Mobility Spectrometer
Analytical Chemistry, 2000A tandem quadrupole ion trap/ion mobility spectrometer (QIT/IMS) has been constructed for structural analysis based on the gas-phase mobilities of mass-selected ions. The instrument combines the ion accumulation, manipulation, and mass-selection capabilities of a modified ion trap mass spectrometer with gas-phase electrophoretic separation in a custom ...

X-ray ion mobility spectrometer
Microelectronics Reliability, 2006Ion mobility spectrometer with X-ray ionization source (X-IMS) is examined in this paper. The investigation of X-ray radiation source (X-source) using in ion mobility spectrometer has been fulfilled. In comparison with other ionization sources X-ray lamp has some advantages such as: low cost, low energy consumption, small size, high reliability and ...

Ion mobility spectrometer—field asymmetric ion mobility spectrometer-mass spectrometry
International Journal for Ion Mobility Spectrometry, 2011Since the development of electrospray ionization (ESI) for ion mobility spectrometry mass spectrometry (IMMS), IMMS have been extensively applied for characterization of gas-phase bio-molecules. Conventional ion mobility spectrometry (IMS), defined as drift tube IMS (DT-IMS), is typically a stacked ring design that utilizes a low electric field ...

A laser ion-mobility spectrometer
Instruments and Experimental Techniques, 2009The process of ion-packet broadening in a longitudinal laser spectrometer of ion mobility is studied. The contributions of the diffusion, Coulomb, and other broadening mechanisms are compared. The resolution of the developed spectrometer was measured (R ∼ 45) in atmospheres of both purified air and pure nitrogen.
