Ion track template technology for fabrication of CdTe and CdO nanocrystals

Nuclear Instruments & Methods in Physics Research B, 2020
Abstract CdTe and CdO nanocrystals were synthesized by chemical deposition into a-SiO2/n-Si ion track template formed by 200 MeV Xe ion irradiation with the fluence of 108 ions/cm2. Depending on the temperature of the solution CdTe + CdO and single-phase CdO with a hexagonal crystal structure were obtained, respectively.

Improving thin film flexible supercapacitor electrode properties using ion-track technology

open access: yesJournal of Materials Science: Materials in Electronics, 2018
A novel self-supporting carbon thin film flexible supercapacitor electrode with high volumetric and areal capacitance was developed. The increase in capacitance performance is achieved by introducing channels across the carbon thin film using ion-track technology. In the first step of the electrode synthesis, latent tracks are inscribed in the starting

Status of ion track technology—Prospects of single tracks

Radiation Measurements, 2005
Abstract A glimpse on the present status of ion track technology is provided: irradiation, etching and electro-replication of single and multiple ion tracks. The uses of an electrolytic cell for single and counted track studies are sketched. In connection with a data acquisition system such a device enables to determine in real-time: track and bulk ...

Effects on insulators of swift-heavy-ion irradiation: ion-track technology

Journal Physics D: Applied Physics, 1998
Polymers (CR-39, SR-86 and Makrofol-KG) and glasses (soda lime and barium phosphate) were irradiated using ions from the 15UD Pelletron at the NSC, New Delhi. The beam energy was fixed at 60 MeV and the fluence was varied in the range -. Irradiation effects were studied using UV-visible and IR spectroscopic techniques. For all the polymer targets there

Nanoclusters and nanotubes for swift ion track technology

Radiation Effects and Defects in Solids, 2007
With interest rising recently in nanostructures of all kinds, attention was also given to etched ion tracks in insulators. The emerging nanopores with a very high aspect ratio enable one to create new functionalities, especially in thin polymeric foils and oxide-on-silicon structures, when combined with electronic, optical, catalytic or sensing ...

Polyimide microfluidic devices with integrated nanoporous filtration areas manufactured by micromachining and ion track technology

open access: yesJournal of Micromechanics and Microengineering, 2003
This paper reports on polyimide microfluidic devices fabricated by photolithography and a layer transfer lamination technology. The microchannels are sealed by laminating an uncured polyimide film on a partially cured layer and subsequent imidization.

Ion tracks and microstructure technology

International Journal of Radiation Applications and Instrumentation. Part D. Nuclear Tracks and Radiation Measurements, 1988
Abstract Present-day microtechnology depends very much on the availability of suitable lithographic techniques for generating smaller and smaller structures. On this road, conventional techniques using light particles, such as photons or electrons, are approaching their technological limits.

Tunable nanoporous silicon oxide templates by swift heavy ion tracks technology

Nanotechnology, 2016
Nanoporous silicon oxide templates formed by swift heavy ion tracks technology have been investigated. The influence of the heavy ion characteristics, such as type of ion, energy, stopping power and irradiation fluence on the pore properties of the silicon oxide templates, has been studied. Furthermore, the process of pore formation by chemical etching
