Ion Parking during Ion/Ion Reactions in Electrodynamic Ion Traps

Analytical Chemistry, 2001
Under appropriate ion density conditions, it is possible to selectively inhibit rates of ion/ion reactions in a quadrupole ion trap via the application of oscillatory voltages to one or more electrodes of the ion trap. The phenomenon is demonstrated using dipolar resonance excitation applied to the end-cap electrodes of a three-dimensional quadrupole ...

Fast inelastic ion-ion, ion-electron, and ion-positron collisions

Physical Review A, 1993
We present scaling relations for the total cross sections and collision strengths of bound-state excitation in positive ions. The colliding particle can be positively or negatively charged and can be a fully ionized atom, an electron, or a positron.

Ion–Ion Collisions Involving Fullerene Ions

Fullerenes, Nanotubes and Carbon Nanostructures, 2005
Abstract Fullerenes are a direct link between atoms with discrete electronic energy levels and solids with a band structure and a well defined surface. In collision experiments, both between energetic ions or electrons and neutral C60 molecules [Walch, B.; Cocke, C.L.; Voelpel, R.; Salzborn, E.

Ion-ion collisions involving H− ions

AIP Conference Proceedings, 1990
A report is given on recent crossed‐beams experiments studying single‐ and double‐electron removal from H− in energetic collisions with Arq+ (q≤8) ions. The data is discussed with respect to conversion efficiencies of H− to neutral H0 in plasma neutralizers proposed for efficient neutral beam heating of future fusion devices.

[Electrolyte solutions].

[Kango] Japanese journal of nursing, 2019
Electrolyte Solutions An electrolyte solution is a solution that generally contains ions, atoms or molecules that have lost or gained electrons, and is electrically conductive. For this reason they are often called ionic solutions, however there are some

Ion Pumps, Ion Pathways, Ion Sites

1986
There has been a rapidly growing list of ATP-fueled ion pumps. Most of these are H+-transporting ATPases ranging from the mitochondrial F1F0 ATPase through the H+ pump of intracellular organelles to the gastric H+-K+ ATPase (Racker, 1976; Cidon and Nelson, 1983; Sachs et al, 1976).
