Transparent, mechanically robust, and ultrastable ionogels enabled by hydrogen bonding between elastomers and ionic liquids

Materials Horizons, 2020
A general strategy for the fabrication of mechanically robust ionogels by hydrogen bonding between elastomers and [NTf2]-based ILs is demonstrated.

Ultratough Bioinspired Graphene Fiber via Sequential Toughening of Hydrogen and Ionic Bonding.

ACS Nano, 2018
Graphene-based fibers synthesized under ambient temperature have not achieved excellent mechanical properties of high toughness or tensile strength compared with those synthesized by hydrothermal strategy or graphitization and annealing treatment ...

Porous liquid zeolites: hydrogen bonding-stabilized H-ZSM-5 in branched ionic liquids.

Nanoscale, 2019
Porous liquids, as a newly emerging type of porous material, have great potential in gas separation and storage. However, the examples and synthetic strategies reported so far likely represent only the tip of the iceberg due to the great difficulty and ...

Synergetic Lithium and Hydrogen Bonds Endow Liquid‐Free Photonic Ionic Elastomer with Mechanical Robustness and Electrical/Optical Dual‐Output

Advances in Materials, 2023
Photonic ionic elastomers (PIEs) capable of multiple signal outputs are intriguing in flexible interactive electronics. However, fabricating PIEs with simultaneous mechanical robustness, good ionic conductivity, and brilliant structure color still ...

Linear Calcium Carbonate Chains by Directional Control of Ionic Bonding.

Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters
As a result of the non-directionality of ionic bonds, oppositely charged ions always assemble into closely packed clusters or crystals rather than linear structured ionic species. Here, we generated a series of linear calcium carbonate chains, (Ca2+CO32-)

Bonding and ionicity in semiconductors

Physical Review B, 1987
Theoretical investigations of the bonding properties of 34 elemental and compound semiconductors are reported. From self-consistent band-structure calculations (within the local-density approximation) valence charge densities are calculated. The densities are obtained by transforming muffin-tin orbitals to a localized basis.

Bond ionicity in TlC5H5

Journal of Organometallic Chemistry, 1974
Abstract 19 F NMR spectra of m - and p -fluorophenylcyclopentadienylthallium have been measured. The resulting δ(F) values have been converted into the constants σ I and σ o R . The chemical shifts and the constants are collated with the respective values for alkali cyclopentadienyls and for metallocenes.

Ionic Association in Hydrogen-Bonding Solvents

Journal of Solution Chemistry, 1973
Studies on ionic association in hydrogen-bonding solvents including water, aliphatic alcohols, fluorinated alcohols, formamide, ethylene glycol, and propanol-acetone mixtures are compared. Data were derived from measurements of conductivity, ultrasonic absorption, and viscosity of electrolyte solutions and diffusion of nonelectrolytes.

Hydrogen Bonds in Imidazolium Ionic Liquids

The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2006
It is critically important to understand the structural properties of ionic liquids. In this work, the structures of cations, anions, and cation-anion ion-pairs of 1,3-dialkylimidazolium based ionic liquids were optimized systematically at the B3LYP/6-31+G level of DFT theory, and their most stable geometries were obtained.
