EXPERIMENTAL EVALUATION OF CONCENTRATED SOLUTIONS OF IOTHALAMIC ACID DERIVATIVES AS ANGIOGRAPHIC CONTRAST MEDIA

American Journal of Roentgenology, 1966
Two new concentrated contrast agents, MP 1005.2 and MP 2032, which are derivatives of iothalamic acid have been tested as angiographic contrast media. The results have been compared to results obtained with hypaque M-90; both of the new media proved to be less neurotoxic and nephrotoxic. Thus, in equivalent solutions iothalamate salts proved to be less

Paired ion reversed-phase HPLC assay for the determination of iothalamic acid and para aminohippuric acid in urine

Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 1994
A paired ion reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatographic method for simultaneous determination of iothalamic acid (Io) and para aminohippuric acid (PAH) in urine is described. The method uses a single internal standard for both drugs. The only sample preparation required is dilution of urine (1:100 or 1:500) with deionized water.

Effect of Methylglucamine Salts of Iocarmic and Iothalamic Acids on Hemodynamics, Acid-Base Equilibrium and Coagulation

Acta Radiologica. Diagnosis, 1977
The effects of electrolytes, osmolality, pH, PaO2, PaCO2, hematocrit, blood volume and coagulation occurring after a rapid intra-aortic injection of a monomer and a dimer (salts of methylglucamine of the iothalamic and iocarmic acids) were compared. The effects of the monomer agreed with previous results but the effects of the dimer differed from those

Paired Ion Reversed-Phase HPLC Assay for the Simultaneous Determination of Iothalamic Acid and Para Aminohippuric Acid in Plasma

Journal of Liquid Chromatography, 1994
Abstract An ion paired reversed—phase high performance liquid chromatographic assay for iothalamic acid and para aminohippuric acid in the same sample of plasma is described. The analysis uses one internal standard for both drugs. Sample preparation consists of precipitating plasma proteins with methanol and centrifuging to settle the proteins.

Column-switching liquid chromatographic method for the simultaneous determination of iothalamic acid and creatinine in biological fluids

Journal of Chromatography A, 1994
A column-switching liquid chromatographic method for simultaneous determination of iothalamate and creatinine in human serum and urine was developed. Iothalamate and creatinine were separated on a weakly acidic ion-exchange column (C1) by ion-exclusion chromatography and iothalamate excluded from the column was purified by gel chromatography on a ...

Absorption of iothalamate after oral administration and absorption enhancement by amino acids in dogs and rats

Biopharmaceutics & Drug Disposition, 1986
AbstractThe oral absorption of iothalamate and the effect of amino acids on its absorption were studied in 6 dogs and 6 rats using a simple HPLC assay. The results showed that iothalamate was absorbed in dogs, averaging 9·9, 8·5, and 10·0 per cent following the administration of 40 and 100mg kg−1 of iothalamic acid capsules and 50mg kg−1 of sodium ...

Simultaneous determination of p-aminohippuric acid, acetyl-p-aminohippuric acid and iothalamate in human plasma and urine by high-performance liquid chromatography

Journal of Chromatography B: Biomedical Sciences and Applications, 1998
A sensitive and specific high-performance liquid chromatographic assay was developed for the simultaneous determination of p-aminohippuric acid (PAH), acetyl-p-aminohippuric acid (aPAH), and iothalamate in human plasma and urine. Plasma samples were prepared by protein precipitation with acetonitrile followed by evaporation, reconstitution in mobile ...
