Assessing network readiness for IP telephony

2002 IEEE International Conference on Communications. Conference Proceedings. ICC 2002 (Cat. No.02CH37333), 2002
Networked multimedia applications require stringent real-time QoS guarantees. Successful deployment of such applications closely depends on the performance of the underlying data network. The characteristics and the QoS requirements of these applications are different from traditional data applications.

Migration to IP Telephony

2005
There are mainly two types of used communication systems; circuit switched and packet switched networks. In circuit switched networks, there must be a dedicated path and a sequence of connected links between the calling and called stations. A connection with the proper resources has to be established prior to the start of information exchange.

IP telephony and QoS issues

International Conference on Communication Technology Proceedings, 2003. ICCT 2003., 2004
This paper reviews trends in services, market and technology for IP telephony, which is growing in the international and domestic market. Also enterprise network apparatus are being replaced by IP based apparatus, which enables the integration of Internet and PBX. It also describes technical and regulatory issues for further penetration of IP telephony.

Resource management for IP telephony networks

IEEE 2002 Tenth IEEE International Workshop on Quality of Service (Cat. No.02EX564), 2003
The two key resources in an IP telephony network are the Internet telephony gateways (ITGs) and the IP network. These resources must be effectively managed to simultaneously provide good QoS to calls and maximize network resource utilization. This paper presents two main contributions.

Application neuronetwork technologies in IP-telephony

2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Actual Problems of Electronics Instrument Engineering (APEIE), 2012
The opportunity of application neuronetwork technologies in a IP-telephony is considered. The basic stages of an engineering technique of construction neuronetwork models are selected on the basis of an adaptive neural network.

Emergency Telecommunication Support for IP Telephony

2005
As universal high speed internet access becomes a reality, phone calls are increasingly being made over the Internet rather than the conventional PSTN. The danger to this trend is the un-availability of priority mechanisms for communication between emergency response personnel during times of disaster.
