Selective Chain Scission of L‐Lactide/ε‐Caprolactone Chain Shuttled Copolymers
L‐lactide/ε‐caprolactone chain shuttled multiblock copolymers are composed of PLLA‐rich hard blocks and poly(ε‐caprolactone‐co‐L‐lactide) soft blocks. They can be selectively degraded, notably into PLA oligomers, by organocatalyzed transesterification. This allows not only to determine the block length but also to envision the recycling of the PLA part

A high‐resolution, novel method to assess the sexual competitiveness of sterile mass‐reared Drosophila suzukii males is calibrated and illustrated using different laboratory and wild type strains. Isolation of individual females after semi‐controlled cage competition tests and subsequent observation of their progeny showed that sterile males from two ...

ABSTRACT Objectives Detection of local recurrences after (chemo)radiotherapy (C)RT for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is challenging due to post‐treatment mucosal changes. This study assessed the added diagnostic value of narrow band imaging (NBI) compared to white light imaging (WLI) during rigid endoscopy under general anaesthesia for ...

Bisexual releases are as effective as male‐only releases to control Drosophila suzukii with the sterile insect technique. Releasing sterile Drosophila suzukii males or males and females in cages led to the same degree of induced sterility in wild females.

Abstract Traditionally, pharyngeal cancer was detected at an advanced stage, as examinations were usually performed only after symptoms such as pain or dysphagia appeared. Consequently, it was considered a malignancy with a poor prognosis. However, recent advances in image‐enhanced endoscopy (IEE) have facilitated the early detection of superficial ...

A mass rearing method to aliquot and hatch Aedes mosquito eggs using capsules
The sterile insect technique (SIT) is a sustainable genetic control method to effectively suppress mosquito vector populations below sanitary and nuisance thresholds. The SIT requires a cost-effective production and release of radio sterilized insects of
