Long‐Term Outcomes of Deep Brain Stimulation in Woodhouse–Sakati Syndrome

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Woodhouse–Sakati syndrome (WSS) is a rare autosomal recessive disease with distinctive neuroendocrine manifestations, with dystonia being the most common. No clear guidelines are available for the treatment of dystonia in WSS. Objective The aim was to analyze the impact of deep brain stimulation (DBS) on WSS‐associated dystonia ...

Lattice Coulomb propagators, effective energy and confinement

open access: yes, 2013
We show that in the lattice Hamiltonian limit all Coulomb gauge propagators are consistent with the Gribov-Zwanziger confinement mechanism, with an IR enhanced effective energy for quarks and gluons and a diverging ghost form factor compatible with a ...

Putamen Atrophy as a Predictive Factor of Efficacy of GPi‐DBS in Dystonia‐Dyskinesia Syndrome Secondary to Perinatal Anoxic Encephalopathy

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Perinatal hypoxic–ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) is a severe condition resulting from impaired oxygen delivery to the developing brain, often leading to both motor deficits and dystonia‐dyskinetic syndromes (DDS). In selected cases, deep brain stimulation of the globus pallidus internus (GPi‐DBS) may provide a therapeutic option ...

Adaptive Deep Brain Stimulation for Parkinson's Disease: Navigating the Roadblocks to Clinical Implementation

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Adaptive deep brain stimulation (aDBS) represents an important evolution in the treatment of Parkinson's disease (PD), building on conventional DBS (cDBS) by adjusting stimulation in response to real‐time physiological signals. By enabling dynamic targeting of disease‐related neural activity, aDBS offers the potential for more precise ...

Should We Consider Sacral Nerve Stimulation as a Treatment for Neurogenic Lower Urinary Tract Dysfunction? ICI‐RS 2025

open access: yesNeurourology and Urodynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aims To explore the boundary of clinical use of sacral nerve stimulation (SNS) in neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction (NLUTD), identifying barriers to approval and early‐impact research questions. Methods This review is derived from a proposal discussion at the International Consultation on Incontinence‐Research Society in Bristol in ...

Recognizing Graph Theoretic Properties with Polynomial Ideals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Many hard combinatorial problems can be modeled by a system of polynomial equations. N. Alon coined the term polynomial method to describe the use of nonlinear polynomials when solving combinatorial problems. We continue the exploration of the polynomial

Effect of Postweld Heat Treatment on Laser‐Welded Duplex Stainless Steel: Crystallographic Patterns and Fatigue Behavior

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Laser welding of duplex stainless steel disrupts phase balance, promotes nitride precipitation, and reduces fatigue resistance. Postweld heat treatment restores austenite and dissolves nitrides, but the resulting crystallography and phase morphology still impair fatigue performance.
