Ascospores hyperphoretic on mites associated with Ips typographus

Mycological Research, 1989
Ten morphologically distinct types of ascospores were recognized from the bodies of 17 species of mites associated with adults of Ips typographus collected from pheromone traps in Sweden. The ascospores seemed to stick anywhere on the mites, with no special spore-carrying structures (sporothecae) evident.

How differential management strategies affect Ips typographus L. dispersal

Forest Ecology and Management, 2016
Abstract Bark beetle outbreaks have a devastating effect on economically important forests worldwide, thus requiring extensive application of management control strategies. The presence of unmanaged protected areas in close proximity to managed forests can instigate concerns that bark beetle infestations may spread from unmanaged into managed stands.

Přirození nepřátelé lýkožrouta smrkového (Ips typographus)

2021
Bark beetles (Scolitynae) are among the most important pests of forest stands, where they cause extensive damage, especially in spruce monocultures. Their negative effect is to attack the host tree, which is its source of food and at the same time provides them with space for reproduction.
