Methods for IPv4-IPv6 transition
Proceedings IEEE International Symposium on Computers and Communications (Cat. No.PR00250), 2003The future Internet networks are expected to use IPv6 version rather than the IPv4 one. This is mainly due to the limitations of IPv4 in terms of addresses, routing and security QoS issues developed by the Internet community are also tailored for both versions and will be easily deployed in both sides.

Performance evaluation of IPv4/IPv6 transition mechanisms: IPv4-in-IPv6 tunneling techniques
The International Conference on Information Networking 2014 (ICOIN2014), 2014Exhaustion of IPv4 address space is highly aware for most internet players, not only Internet Service Providers (ISPs), but also Telco and Content Providers. A number of IPv4/IPv6 migration/transition tools and mechanisms have been proposed, deployed/implemented world-wide.

IPv4 Traversal for the NEMO Basic Support Protocol by IPv4 Care-of Address Registration
IEICE Transactions on Communications, 2005On the Internet, two different IP protocols are deployed such as IPv4 [7] and IPv6 [1]. The Mobile Router uses the basic NEMO protocol [2] which is IPv6 protocol specific. During the early period of time that IPv6 transition is occurring it is very likely that a Mobile Router will move to an IPv4 only access network.

An Enhancement of IPv4-in-IPv6 Mechanism
2014 Tenth International Conference on Intelligent Information Hiding and Multimedia Signal Processing, 2014From global Internet information, IPv6 traffic grows slowly. A large portion of service providers are still using IPv4 even IPv6 co-exists with IPv4 for long time. However, IPv6 traffic are gradually growing especially most of network backbone sides. This paper proposes an enhancement mechanism of IPv4-in-IPv6 which supports IPv6 natively and provides ...

Characterizing IPv4 anycast adoption and deployment
Proceedings of the 11th ACM Conference on Emerging Networking Experiments and Technologies, 2015This paper provides a comprehensive picture of IP-layer anycast adoption in the current Internet. We carry on multiple IPv4 anycast censuses, relying on latency measurement from PlanetLab. Next, we leverage our novel technique for anycast detection, enumeration, and geolocation [17] to quantify anycast adoption in the Internet.

IPv4/IPv6 Intercommunication Technology Research
2009 International Conference on Environmental Science and Information Application Technology, 2009For IPv6 and IPv4 network seamless interconnection question, it is very essential to study IPv4/IPv6 intercommunication technology to ensure smooth transition of IPv4 to IPv6. To solve the seamless interconnection question, this article mainly researches IPv4 to IPv6 development's intercommunication question of three stages, including IPv6 based-IPv4 ...

Problems on IPv4-IPv6 network Transition
International Symposium on Applications and the Internet Workshops (SAINTW'06), 2006IPv6 (Internet protocol version 6) is now available in various OSs and applications. It is also deployed in major ISP backbone networks. Although most of all IPv6 features work as they were designed, we may have potential problems with them and they might exist in IPv4-IPv6 dual stack environment.

IPV6 Translation For IPV4 Embedded Systems
MILCOM 2005 - 2005 IEEE Military Communications Conference, 2006The US Department of Defense (DoD) plans to add Internet protocol (IP) version 6 (IPv6) capability to all DoD IP networks by 2008 then begin a phase-out of IP version 4 (IPv4). To facilitate this migration various transition mechanisms have been developed to address interoperability of IPv4 and IPv6 networks and systems.
