Characterizing IPv4 anycast adoption and deployment
Proceedings of the 11th ACM Conference on Emerging Networking Experiments and Technologies, 2015This paper provides a comprehensive picture of IP-layer anycast adoption in the current Internet. We carry on multiple IPv4 anycast censuses, relying on latency measurement from PlanetLab. Next, we leverage our novel technique for anycast detection, enumeration, and geolocation [17] to quantify anycast adoption in the Internet.

Performance Analysis of Routing Protocols On IPv4 and IPv6 Addressing Networks
Journal of Web Engineering, 2021With IPv4 addresses being exhausted, network engineers and researchers are encouraged to adopt IPv6. But before using the IPv6 network directly, engineers need to test their hardware and network performance under new conditions of IPv6 as it has an ...

A Systematic Review of Transition from IPV4 To IPV6
Proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Engineering & MIS 2020, 2020Personal computers (PC) and gadgets have recently become increasingly associated with the Internet. Internet Protocol (IP) has become the driving force for a decade for which devices and organizations tend to rely as a means of communication between ...

Definition of the Differentiated Services Field (DS Field) in the IPv4 and IPv6 Headers
Request for Comments, 1998Differentiated services enhancements to the Internet protocol are intended to enable scalable service discrimination in the Internet without the need for per-flow state and signaling at every hop.
