Identifying and Prioritising BSACI Service Standards for Paediatric Allergy in the United Kingdom

open access: yesClinical &Experimental Allergy, Volume 56, Issue 1, Page 7-14, January 2026.
A total of 29 potential service standards for paediatric allergy were developed. These were then prioritised using methodology adapted from the James Lind Alliance, by stakeholders representing patients, service commissioners and healthcare professionals.

ZEN-IQA: Zero-Shot Explainable and No-Reference Image Quality Assessment With Vision Language Model

open access: yesIEEE Access
No-reference image quality assessment (NR-IQA), which aims to estimate the perceptual quality of a degraded image without accessing the corresponding original image, is a key challenge in low-level computer vision.

No Reference Image Quality Assessment based on Multi-Expert Convolutional Neural Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
No Reference (NR) Image Quality Assessment (IQA) algorithm is capable of measuring the quality of distorted images without referencing the original images. This property is of great importance in image processing, compression, and transmission.

Quantum dynamics of particles in a discrete two-branes world model: Can matter particles exchange occur between branes? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In a recent paper, a model for describing the quantum dynamics of massive particles in a non-commutative two-sheeted spacetime was proposed. This model considers a universe made with two spacetime sheets embedded in a 5D bulk where the fifth dimension is

Codesigning a Neurocognitive Assessment Protocol for Hyperphagia: Perspectives From Stakeholders in Prader–Willi Syndrome

open access: yesJournal of Intellectual Disability Research, Volume 70, Issue 1, Page 58-67, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Hyperphagia—characterized by an overwhelming drive to consume food—is a core feature of Prader–Willi syndrome (PWS) that profoundly impacts individuals and families. Objective measures of hyperphagia are urgently needed to support therapeutic development and improve clinical outcomes for individuals with PWS.

End-to-End Image Patch Quality Assessment for Image/Video With Compression Artifacts

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In this paper, we present an experimental image quality assessment (IQA) method for image/video patches with compression artifacts. Using the High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) standard, we create a new database of image patches with compression ...
