Always remain suspicious: a case study on tracking down a technical artefact while measuring IR-RF
Identifying systematic errors that are introduced by the measurement equipment is a necessary prerequisite for reproducible measurements and reliable results. However, technical artefacts often remain unpublished. Here we report on a sudden change of luminescence intensity observed while measuring IR-RF signals from K-feldspar extracts.

Liquid Crystals, PIV and IR-Photography in Selected Technical and Biomedical Applications [PDF]
Thermochromic liquid crystals (TLC), Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV), Infrared Imaging Themography (IR) and True-Colour Digital Image Processing (TDIP) have been successfully used in non-intrusive technical, industrial and biomedical studies and applications. These four tools (based on the desktop computers) have come

IR ear thermometers: what do they measure and how do they comply with the EU technical regulation? [PDF]
Medical diagnostics and clinical practice rely extensively on test and measurement instrumentation. It is therefore of paramount importance that test and measurement instrumentation provides reliable data of sufficient stability, within appropriate limits of accuracy.

Technical remarks and comments on the UV/IR-mixing problem of a noncommutative scalar quantum field theory [PDF]
In this letter we will dicuss the possibility of a resummation procedure in order to cure the UV/IR-mixing problem of noncommutative field theories. The method is presented for a scalar phi^4 theory on Euclidean space. Finally, we sketch the idea of resummation for U(1)-gauge theories.

Technical Note: Film‐based measurement of gold nanoparticle dose enhancement for 192Ir [PDF]
PurposeThe purpose of this work is to introduce a simple yet accurate technique to measure the dose enhancement factor (DEF) of a citrate‐capped gold nanoparticle (GNP) solution using EBT3 film in an 192Ir setup.MethodsDose enhancement factor is the ratio of absorbed dose in a solution compared to absorbed dose in water, assuming identical irradiation ...

Final technical report. In-situ FT-IR monitoring of a black liquor recovery boiler [PDF]
This project developed and tested advanced Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) instruments for process monitoring of black liquor recovery boilers. The state-of-the-art FT-IR instruments successfully operated in the harsh environment of a black liquor recovery boiler and provided a wealth of real-time process information.

4.3 - A Multichannel IR Sensor System for Condition Moni¬toring of Technical Fluids
In this paper we report about the first results of a novel multichannel oil sensor system, which is able to analyze the deterioration of technical fluids in continuous action. The sensor system is based on a miniaturized measurement cell with a commercial infrared light source and four thermopile detectors with different narrow bandwidth filters.

Determination of the Technical Condition of Industrial Chimneys by the Passive IR Thermography Method [PDF]
In this paper, the main points of technical diagnostics of industrial chimneys with a passive IR thermography nondestructive testing method are considered, the main contradictions in the classical approach to diagnostics are revealed and ways to solve this problem are proposed at a higher and informative level.

Novel software for medical and technical Thermal Object Identification TOI using dynamic temperature measurements by fast IR cameras [PDF]
This paper presents a thermal analysis and methodology of thermal parameters identification of thermal multilayer structures using thermographic measurements after dynamic heating (or cooling) the investigated objects. During the thermal transient process, thermal images are recorded, with the highest possible frame rate of the camera.
