The Stability‐Instability Paradox and the Evolving Balance of Terror in the Middle East

open access: yesMiddle East Policy, Volume 33, Issue 4, Winter 2026.
Abstract In launching its war on Iran, Washington has committed a grave mistake by allowing a weakened Islamic Republic to reconstitute a regional balance of terror. Decarbonization and the Rescaling of Water–Energy Bargaining: How Renewable Expansion Is Reshaping Iran–Iraq–Türkiye Transboundary Water Politics

open access: yesWorld Water Policy, Volume 12, Issue 4, November 2026.
ABSTRACT This article examines how renewable‐energy expansion is changing water–energy bargaining among Iran, Iraq, and Türkiye in the Tigris–Euphrates basin. Sunlight‐Induced Lipid Oxidation and Degradation of Edible Oil Mediated by Hemoglobin: Implications for Food System Sustainability

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 10, October 2026.
Sunlight‐activated hemoglobin (Hb) functions as a robust natural biocatalyst that promotes the degradation of edible oils through a dual, synergistic pathway. Photo‐excitation of Hb triggers simultaneous energy transfer, generating singlet oxygen (1O2) and electron transfer, forming highly reactive ferryl (HbFe(IV)═O) species.
