Simulating Future Dynamics of a Groundwater‐Fed Lake in Central Europe: Integrating Modeling and Machine Learning Approach

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Freshwater systems in Central Europe are increasingly vulnerable to climate change and anthropogenic pressures. This study investigates future dynamics of Lake Groß Glienicke, a groundwater‐fed lake experiencing rapid water‐level decline in recent decades.

Buoy Observations of Ocean Swell Propagation Across the Pacific Ocean

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, Volume 131, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract A network of more than 300 drifting wave buoys is used to study the propagation of ocean swell across the Pacific Ocean. Swell events are identified at buoys in the Equatorial region and then tracked along Great Circle propagation paths both forward and backward in time.

Calibration and Fusion of GOLD‐Inferred TEC Data With Ground‐Based TEC

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 24, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Ground‐based Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers provide primary total electron content (TEC) measurements used to monitor ionospheric variability, yet their sparse distribution over oceanic and equatorial regions limits global coverage and model accuracy.

Multimodal Assessment of Kidney Quality During 24‐h of Normothermic Machine Perfusion

open access: yesArtificial Organs, Volume 50, Issue 6, Page 851-865, June 2026.
Normothermic machine perfusion (NMP) has emerged as a promising tool for assessing kidney quality prior to transplantation; however, reliable biomarkers remain to be established. In this study, thirteen porcine kidneys were perfused for 24 h using an autologous leukocyte‐filtered whole blood‐based perfusate applying urine recirculation.

AI Revolution and Warfare: A New Paradigm Shift in Defence Procurement, Restructuring, Training, and Recruitment

open access: yesCanadian Public Administration, Volume 69, Issue 2, Page 250-277, June 2026.
Abstract The war in Ukraine and Israel's successful operations have demonstrated the apparent shift in military operations, strategic defence spending, and innovations. Drawing parallels to the industrial revolution and how it slowly transferred military procurement, training, and deployment, the current study also highlights the AI revolution and the ...
