Fundamental limits of accuracy and precision in single molecule biosensors [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Physical limit of molecular sensing has been extensively studied in biological systems. Biosensors are engineered equivalents of molecular sensors in living systems and play critical role in disease diagnosis and management. Investigation into the physical limits of biosensors could have major beneficial impact on early disease diagnosis.

All-metal terahertz metamaterial biosensor for protein detection

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2021
In this paper, a terahertz (THz) biosensor based on all-metal metamaterial is theoretically investigated and experimentally verified. This THz metamaterial biosensor uses stainless steel materials that are manufactured via laser-drilling technology.

Quantitative Diffractometric Biosensing [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. Applied 15, 034023 (2021), 2020
Diffractometric biosensing is a promising technology to overcome critical limitations of refractometric biosensors, the dominant class of label-free optical transducers. These limitations manifest themselves by higher noise and drifts due to insufficient rejection of refractive index fluctuations caused by variation in temperature, solvent ...

Highly Multiplexed Label-Free Imaging Sensor for Accurate Quantification of Small-Molecule Binding Kinetics

open access: yesACS Omega, 2020
Investigating the binding interaction of small molecules to large ligands is a compelling task for the field of drug development, as well as agro-biotechnology, since a common trait of drugs and toxins is often a low molecular weight (MW).

Segmentation-free Direct Iris Localization Networks [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
This paper proposes an efficient iris localization method without using iris segmentation and circle fitting. Conventional iris localization methods first extract iris regions by using semantic segmentation methods such as U-Net. Afterward, the inner and outer iris circles are localized using the traditional circle fitting algorithm.

Design of an optimized $\text{MoS}_2$-based highly sensitive near-infrared surface plasmon resonance imaging biosensor [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Quantum Electronics 2019, 2017
A surface plasmon resonance imaging biosensor based on $\text{MoS}_2$ deposited on Aluminium substrate is designed for high imaging sensitivity and detection accuracy. The proposed biosensor exhibits better performance than graphene-based biosensor in the near-infrared regime. A high imaging sensitivity of more than 970 $\text{RIU}^{-1}$ is obtained at
