Efficient iris localization and recognition
Optik, 2017Abstract Iris localization is an important step in iris recognition systems; all the subsequent steps, iris normalization, feature extraction and matching, depend on its accuracy. Traditional iris localization methods often involve an exhaustive search of a three-dimensional parameter space, which is a time consuming process.

An Improvement Method for Daugman’s Iris Localization Algorithm
Lecture Notes in Computer Science, 2011An improvement method is present in this paper for Daugman's iris localization algorithm. It may make iris localization more rapid and more precise. It may also decrease the computational complexity of the localization algorithm by reducing the search area for the iris boundary center and the radius, In addition, a new method excluding the upper and ...

New Algorithm of Iris Localization
2009 WRI World Congress on Computer Science and Information Engineering, 2009In order to enhance the accuracy of the iris localization, a new algorithm is proposed by combining the merits of wavelet analysis and Hough transform. For the inner edge localization, the wavelet analysis is applied to the iris image to remove the noise availably. Then using the Hough transform locates the iris inner edge accurately.

Optical iris localization approach
2009 IEEE/ACS International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications, 2009This paper introduces a new iris segmentation approach based on correlation filters. The iris boundaries are detected using an original technique of composite filter called indexed composite filters. For each of the iris boundary detection, an indexed composite filter is generated using a database of circular contours corresponding to all boundary ...

Hardware Accelerators for Iris Localization
Journal of Signal Processing Systems, 2017This paper presents field programmable logic array (FPGA) based hardware accelerators for iris localization, which can be used to accelerate the iris localization task in reliable and affordable embedded iris recognition systems. This work uses edge-map generation and circular Hough transform (CHT) based algorithm to localize irises in the images ...

An Iris localization method for noisy infrared iris images
2015 IEEE International Conference on Signal and Image Processing Applications (ICSIPA), 2015Iris segmentation is an important step in iris biometrics and becomes more challenging when iris images are noisy. Iris segmentation process localizes iris in the iris image and detects eyelids also. The proposed method localizes iris in noisy frontal view iris images captured under near infrared (NIR) illumination and having noise issues such as ...

Pupil and Iris Localization for Iris Recognition in Mobile Phones
Seventh ACIS International Conference on Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Networking, and Parallel/Distributed Computing (SNPD'06), 2006Until now, iris recognition has been used in many fields. Recently, there have been attempts to adopt iris recognition technology for the security of mobile phones. For example, in case of bank transaction service by using a mobile phone, using a mobile phone can use high level of security based on iris recognition.
