Corn rootworm (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) emergence patterns, survival, and injury in blended refuges and pure stands of short‐stature corn and tall corn

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 8, Page 7645-7654, August 2026.
Graphical Abstract Text: This study compared corn rootworm (Diabrotica spp.) emergence patterns and injury between short‐stature corn and tall corn to help inform corn rootworm management strategies in short‐stature corn Abstract BACKGROUND Short‐stature corn became commercially available in the United States in 2025 and has several desirable qualities

Prospective external validation of ADNEX and RMI for estimating risk of malignancy in adnexal masses in general gynecological settings: Danish multicenter study

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, Volume 68, Issue 2, Page 256-269, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives The primary aims of this study were to validate externally the diagnostic performance of the Assessment of Different NEoplasias in the adneXa (ADNEX) model for distinguishing between malignant and benign adnexal masses, when used by non‐expert ultrasound examiners in general gynecological settings with a low prevalence of ovarian ...

Carbonate‐Associated Sulfate Does Not Record Superheavy δ34S in Deep Scandinavian Bedrock Fractures: Implications for Pyrite Formation in the Deep Biosphere

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract In deep bedrock fractures of the Fennoscandian shield, pyrite with “superheavy” δ34S values of up to 147‰ exists together with calcite. The extreme variability and 34S‐enrichment in pyrite indicate that microbial sulfate reduction (MSR) evolved to almost complete sulfate exhaustion in closed‐system microenvironments.

Polytropic Index and Thermodynamic Behavior of the Central Plasma Sheet Near Lunar Distances

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 131, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract In addition to making near‐Earth observations, the THEMIS/ARTEMIS mission is uniquely positioned at lunar distance, in the deep magnetotail, reaching distances of 60 RE ${R}_{E}$ and further. This vantage point allows ARTEMIS to access the plasma sheet and measure entropy evolution across convective channels, plasma flow gradients ...

Architecture of the Patrimonio Fault System and the Miocene Post‐Orogenic Extension in Alpine Corsica (France)

open access: yesTectonics, Volume 45, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract The exhumation of Alpine Corsica is the result of Oligocene‐Miocene lithospheric back‐arc extension in the wake of the eastward migration of Apenninic subduction. Although the geometry, kinematics and timing of ductile detachments are well constrained, the brittle extension leading to final exhumation of Alpine Corsica is less documented.
