Cellular Responses to Iron and Iron Compounds

1994
Cells may take up iron by a variety of routes, depending upon the cell type and the environment. The most studied and best characterised uptake mechanism involves acquisition of transferrin-bound iron. This process, which is discussed in detail elsewhere in this volume, involves binding of Fe-transferrin to membrane transferrin receptors and ...

ELNES of Iron Compounds

Proceedings, annual meeting, Electron Microscopy Society of America, 1990
Electron energy loss spectra of transition metal oxides, which show various fine structures in inner shell edges, have been extensively studied. These structures and their positions are related to the oxidation state of metal ions. In this sence an influence of anions coordinated with the metal ions is very interesting.

Covalent Iron Compounds

1971
There is a large class of iron organometallic compounds which can be described as molecular, diamagnetic, and highly covalent. They are derived in the main from the parent compounds iron pentacarbonyl, Fe(CO)5, and the cyclopentadienyl complex ferrocene, (π-C5H5)2Fe or Cp2Fe.
