Rheocasting versus Die Casting: An Insight into the Low‐Cycle Fatigue Behavior of AlSi7Mg0.6
The study compares rheocast lightweight components with high‐pressure die cast materials regarding microstructure and fatigue behavior. Rheocast process offers higher efficiency due to lower casting temperatures. Despite some microstructural differences, both processes show similar strengths (yield strength 125 MPa, tensile strength 240 MPa).

Increased iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia in children with zinc deficiency
The aim of the present study is to determine the presence of iron (Fe) deficiency and Fe deficiency anemia in children with zinc (Zn) deficiency. This retrospective study comprised 560 patients aged 6 months to 16 years in whom Zn levels in hair samples were measured concurrently with serum levels of ferritin, Fe, Fe-binding capacity, and blood count ...

Can Ti‐Based MXenes Serve as Solid Lubricants for Brake Applications? A Tribological Study
This study explores the first implementation of Ti‐based MXenes materials in brake pad friction composite material. The resulting composite material exhibits a 48% reduction in the wear rate; alongside significant improvements are observed for thermal and mechanical properties.

How Eliminating Malaria May Also Prevent Iron Deficiency in African Children
Malaria and iron deficiency are common among children living in sub-Saharan Africa. Several studies have linked a child’s iron status to their future risk of malaria infection; however, few have examined whether malaria might be a cause of iron ...

Novel mutation in addition to functional TMPRSS6 gene polymorphisms originate an IRIDA-like phenotype in an African child [PDF]
Iron-refractory iron deficiency anemia (IRIDA) is a rare autosomal recessive anemia often unresponsive to oral iron intake and partially responsive to parenteral iron treatment. The disease originates from mutations in TMPRSS6 gene, encoding Matriptase 2,

A wood‐based magnetic and conductive material called Magwood (MW), capable of blocking almost 99.99% of electromagnetic waves (in the X‐band frequency range), is synthesized using a simple, solvent‐free process. MW is lightweight, resists water, and is flame‐retardant, making it a promising alternative for shielding electronics. The rapid proliferation

Mild riboflavin deficiency is highly prevalent in school-age children but does not increase risk for anaemia in Côte d'Ivoire [PDF]
There are few data on the prevalence of riboflavin deficiency in sub-Saharan Africa, and it remains unclear whether riboflavin status influences the risk for anaemia.
