Photoemission study of iron deposited on fullerenes

Physical Review B, 1994
Photoelectron spectroscopy is used to study iron particles grown by depositing Fe on a fullerene film. For small amounts of iron deposited on the fullerenes, the Fe 3p core level is shifted \ensuremath{\sim}0.4 eV to greater binding energy and a clear Fermi edge is missing.

Bacterial Iron Deposits

Science, 2003
GEOCHEMISTRY Banded iron formations (BIFs) are enigmatic, yet stunning, sedimentary rocks deposited mainly in the Late Archean to Early Proterozoic (2.7 to 1.9 billion years ago). They consist of micrometer- to centimeter-wide alternating layers of iron-rich and silica-rich material.

Tissue Affinity as a Factor in Iron Deposition

Nature, 1964
VARIOUS factors are known to influence the absorption of iron from the gastrointestinal tract. From work performed in our laboratory it would appear that an additional factor, not considered previously, is an alteration in the tissues, so that there is an increase in the affinity of the liver for iron.

Liver Iron Deposition

2017
Iron is stored within the liver, spleen, and other organs of the reticuloendothelial system. Iron overload can occur as a result of primary hemochromatosis, cirrhosis, anemia, and multiple transfusions. PET/MR imaging has the ability to use multiple MRI sequences to detect and confirm liver iron deposition.

Boiler iron deposition

Anti-Corrosion Manual, 1980
The most critical problem facing industry utilities personnel is the control of iron, especially iron deposition in high-pressure package and recovery boilers.

Iron Deposition in the Corneal Graft

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1983
Linear iron deposits in the corneal epithelium are well-documented phenomena in a variety of circumstances, both normal and pathologic. A characteristic annular pigmented line, appearing clinically as an "iron" line, occurred in the donor epithelium of approximately 13% of corneal grafts with retained sutures. Eight cases of normally functioning grafts

Iron ore deposits

1996
Abstract Iron ore deposits are widespread throughout the Circum Pacific (Park, 1972). However significant production has been confined to three areas: the south-east China province from Hainan island through Kwangtung and Fukien, the Malay Peninsula and the Philippines (Fig. 9.1).

Iron-Oxide Deposits

2016
Project evaluation procedures described in this chapter are mainly based on examples from the Hamersley Province in the Western Australia containing deposits associated with the banded iron-formation and the goethitic palaeochannel deposits.
