Nanochemical Processes In Solid-Phase Reduction Of Ferrioxide-Silicate Materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Solid-phase carbon reduction of ferrioxide-silicate materials have been investigated on example of sedimentary iron ores of Kerch deposit. It was shown that nanochemical iron oxide reduction to sponge iron with flux-mineralizers is accomplished due to ...

Assessing Altered Coating Adhesion on Plasma‐Deoxidized Surfaces Under Oxygen‐Free Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates the effectiveness of atmospheric pressure plasma pretreatment in modifying silicon and stainless steel surfaces to improve adhesion. Argon‐hydrogen plasma increases surface roughness and improves adhesion strength, whereas pure argon results in smoother surfaces and structural changes.

Chemical fingerprint of iron oxides related to iron enrichment of banded iron formation from the Cauê Formation - Esperança Deposit, Quadrilátero Ferrífero, Brazil: a laser ablation ICP-MS study

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Geology
Chemical signatures of iron oxides from dolomitic itabirite and high-grade iron ore from the Esperança deposit, located in the Quadrilátero Ferrífero, indicate that polycyclic processes involving changing of chemical and redox conditions are responsible ...

X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy study of radiofrequency-sputtered refractory compound steel interfaces [PDF]

open access: yes
Radiofrequency sputtering was used to deposit Mo2C, Mo2B5, and MoSi2 coatings on 440C steel substrates. Both sputter etched and preoxidized substrates were used, and the films were deposited with and without a substrate bias of -300 V. The composition of

Investigation into high-temperature corrosion in a large-scale municipal waste-to-energy plant

open access: yes, 2010
High-temperature corrosion in the superheater of a large-scale waste-to-energy plant was investigated. A comparison of nickel-/iron-based alloys and austenitic stainless steel probes placed in the furnace demonstrated that temperature and particle ...

A Discussion on Genetic Mechanism of the Kuerqis Iron Deposit in Fuyun County, Xinjiang

open access: yesYankuang ceshi, 2013
The large iron deposits in the southern margin of Altay had been studied systematically, but researches on some small Fe-rich type such as Kuerqis iron deposit are still obviously insufficient.
