Influence of iron on the extraction of vanadium from oil ashes

Journal of the Chemical Society, Faraday Transactions 1: Physical Chemistry in Condensed Phases, 1984
The disposal of large amounts of ashes derived from the combustion of oil in power stations poses serious environmental problems. However, the relatively high content of useful metals in the ashes provides an incentive to develop processes for their recovery. The influence of iron on the alkali extraction of vanadium has been investigated by following,

Study on Iron Extraction from High Iron Bauxite Residue by Pyrite Reduction

Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 2022
A new method of solid-phase reduction magnetic separation with pyrite as a reducing agent was proposed in order to realize resource utilization of high iron bauxite residue while reducing environmental harm. FeS2 powder and high iron bauxite residue powder were uniformly blended and roasted in a closed environment.

THE MOBILIZATION OF IRON BY AQUEOUS EXTRACTS OF PLANTS

Journal of Soil Science, 1964
Summary The organic‐acid fraction maintains iron in solution from pH 4 to at least pH 9.5, with a maximum of 15 mg iron per gram of dried pine needles at pH 8; the amino‐acid fraction is inactive above pH 4.5. The constituents of the organic‐acid fraction are examined individually and their effectiveness com‐pared. Of the active acids,

Iron mobilization by heathland plant extracts

Geoderma, 1984
Abstract Aqueous extracts of leaves and shoots of Calluna vulgaris, Erica tetralix , and Betula pendula were reacted with iron compounds in the laboratory. Extracts of B. pendula were found to be most active in solubilizing iron. The iron mobilizing capacity of extracts of C. vulgaris depended upon plant age, season, and soil conditions.

Study on Extraction of Iron From Chromite

steel research international, 2015
Research about extraction of iron from chemical-grade South African chromite by carbothermic reduction and hydrochloric acid leaching was conducted in this study. It was found that temperature had a remarkable effect on the extraction yield of iron and that the optimum experimental temperature was 1100 °C, which coincides with the theoretically ...

Separation of indium and iron by solvent extraction

Minerals Engineering, 1998
Abstract Indium is associated in trace amounts in several kinds of zinc and aluminum ores, and has therefore been recovery as a byproduct in these industries. Together with this metal iron is found in high concentration. The present work investigates the separation of indium and iron by solvent extraction using a Replicate Two-Factor Factorial ...

[The process study on the extraction of irone by supercritical fuilds extraction].

Zhong yao cai = Zhongyaocai = Journal of Chinese medicinal materials, 2005
To study the condition for the extraction of irone in Iris tectorum by supercritical fluids extraction.Conditions for the extraction were studied by a systematic method as guided by the content of irone presented in the extract. The best SFE conditions were: 0.411 mm raw material powder of Iris tectorum, 3% CHCl3 as modifier, temperature of extraction ...

DTPA as an extractant of available soil iron

Communications in Soil Science and Plant Analysis, 1973
Abstract Experiments were conducted to evaluate DTPA as an extractant of available soil Fe and to establish interpretive guides. A critical level of 6 ppm DTPA‐extractable soil Fe correctly predicted Fe deficiency of field grown plants at 11 of 13 locations.

Analysis of iron chelates in plant extracts

Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 1961
AbstractThe aim of the work was to extract and identify ethylenediaminetetra‐acetic acid (EDTA) and 1,2‐diaminocyclohexanetetra‐acetic acid (CDTA) or their iron chelates from plant material. Methods were investigated for concentrating these substances and for separating them from the salts, sugars and coloured material that occur in aqueous plant ...

The influence of pH on iron speciation in podzol extracts: Iron complexes with natural organic matter, and iron mineral nanoparticles

Science of The Total Environment, 2013
The quantities of natural organic matter (NOM) and associated iron (Fe) in soil extracts are known to increase with increasing extractant pH. However, it was unclear how the extraction pH affects Fe speciation for particles below 30 nm. We used flow field-flow fractionation (FlowFFF) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) to investigate the ...
